The contest judgement date will be October 30, 2007! Just in time for Halloween! So what are you waiting for? To give you an idea, the glyph I entered in the first contest was the Glyph of Loki: Deceptive Orders - receive and extra "X" order marker and place it along with your others. The extra "X" order marker does not allow you to take a turn, but allows you an extra bluff. A word of advice: Glyphs that require changing tiles on the board in mid-game are probably not easy to use in play, but surprise me! The placement of "water-type" tiles such as ice, lava, swamp water, and water might be a reasonable use for a glyph. Judging will be in the following areas: 1) Ease of use - does the glyph require you to put an extra 24-hex tile on the board, or can you just play it as is? 2) Originality - don't make a Common Attack +2 glyph! 3) Wide applicability - a glyph that only benefits gladiators is probably not as useful as one that benefits all heroes 4) Smooth insertion - a glyph that requires extra game mechanics or custom units does not fit as seamlessly as one that just boosts an existing stat or common power (like flying, bonding, etc.) Custom units or destructible objects, etc., that are needed to activate a glyph reduce the entry's Smooth Insertion value by 1 out of 5. It is assumed by the judges that the glyph will be "bought" in the same "booster pack" as the glyph. 5) Clarity - the power has to be clearly understandable. Remember when Rannveig first came out? Hasbro had to answer some questions, in particular whether a figure may fly after walking one space off of it (it may). Don't word your card like Taelord's Disengage and Stealth Flying! 6) Game Balance - does it break the game? Does it make any figures too powerful? Does it nerf too many units? Variations on existing glyphs are OK, as long as they are somewhat original. Simply increasing an Attack or Defense boost is probably not going to win the Originality category. Good luck! |

I just want to clarify so things.
First of all, can we have more than one entry or glyph. Second, can you please show us some examples or past entries. Just so I can get an idea as to what to do and the format of things. Thanks. |

Do the glyphs have to be on the classic heroscape cards?

Glyph of Verenesh
You may want to reword the power of that Glyph. Your use of pronouns makes it appear as though the destroyed figure gains the Life! Try rereading official Glyphs for proper wording. Just because you're offended, it doesn't make you right.
