At about 6:30 Pacific, Major Q23 and I will throw down. I will have my PK pod and his Romans pod. He will have my 4th pod and his chaser pod.

EDIT: We both didn't develop the best, but I developed worse and so when multiple plays swung against me, I couldn't come back in to pull it out

HS2010 and I finished our game in the first round of the Pod Draft Tournament

Armies:
kd: Mohicans x4, Spiders x3, Wyvern x2 (sit one spider)
HS2010: Esenwein brothers, Kyntela Gwyn, Master Win Chiu Woo, 10th Regiment x2, Shaolin Monks x2

Game opened with Spiders vs. 10th Regiment with a spider self wounding a Wyvern in order to burn kelda. The Regiment took valda and tried to finish off the wounded wyvern before taking kelda but couldn't quite manage it allowing the other wyvern to fly around talon grabbing and killing. I also webbed away an order marker and after two rounds of 10th vs. Arachnids, there were 6 dead Regiment and only 1 dead spider.

Next a mix of Cyprien and Waster Win did much better killing a wyvern almost all the spiders and few Mohicans before Cyprien finally died.

The Monks took some casualties from Mohican Fire coming in, but managed to get within Woo's aura to do some damage, but a huge turn to kill Woo and a couple of Monks really put things away.

I got the win with a 3 life Wyvern and 5 Mohicans left.

I got the first round Pod Draft win vs. Ju_ (son of Father of Julian) tonight. We each ended up playing our own pods.

Ju deployed the Marrden Hounds deep into my territory to start the game, and really tied down my kind of lopsided deployment of the various pieces of my army. Gilbert and the Knights struggled to get the Hounds down but it was only one squad of Hounds and eventually they fell. The last Hound held the move glyph which gave the Snipers good deployment, and they sniped my Raelin over my squads. Raelin didn't give much defense to my squads, but she did carry them out, and their position in the second half of the game turned the battle in my favor as I got to roll downhill with Knights and Stingers at the rest of Ju's army, taking out Zetacron and Marro Warriors and Ne-Gok-Sa and getting the win.

I got the win over Bengi in a very tight game.

I had my Black/White Wyrm pod & Bengi's warforged pod.

Early game we both opened with wyrmlings & traded fairly evenly, but Bengi did a good job of using his blue wyrmlings such that I couldn't get attacks on his red wyrmlings without overextending too far. Final wyrmling trade count was mostly even (I think Bengi killed 1 or 2 more than I did) but he had most of the red wyrms left to face the warforged.

Warforged got off to a slow start, hiding behind the mountains and trying to get to valda. My first two attempts to reach valda were stopped by wyrmling attacks and I had lost 5 warforged by the time I finally got valda and was able to engage 3 wyrmlings at a time. I probably had the upper hand statistically at this point, but my warforged kept rolling 1/4 attacks on wyrmlings and couldn't kill them, and eventually the wyrmlings got me down to 1 warforged v. 3 wyrmlings.

My last warforged put on an MVP show though, taking out all 3 remaining wyrms & putting 3 wounds on Carr long after he should have been dead (Carr had already missed him with a 1/6 & 2/6 attack). Carr did then finish the warforged, but only had one life left. I used Ereven to force an engagement and then burned Kelda. Carr had one final shot at a full life Ereven from height but only got 1 wound; Ereven then finished Carr off with a SA to end the game.

I won with a 4 life Ereven & 1 white wyrmling that I never activated.

I got the win v. Boromir96.

Boromir chose to pick first & took his Cyprien pod; I then took his Q10 pod & my Black/White Wyrm pod, leaving Boromir my Red/Blue pod.

We both opened with wyrmlings, but Boromir only used 2 early OMs on them before shifting to Cyprien. Cyprien did a good job of killing my wyrms, but I was generally able to only give him one attack per turn and over 3-4 rounds of Cyprien hunting down wyrms, I killed all 5 blue wyrms & 3 red wyrms.

After Cyprien finished off my wyrms, I switched to Q10 who moved out and engaged Cyprien on the center 3 height. Q10 won the matchup there, forcing Boromir to switch to Zetacron after Cyprien had taken 5 wounds. Zeta had 2 shots, but hit 1/2 twice, both blocked. Q10 took a disengage from Cyprien, which hit for his first wound, to get unengaged and killed Zeta, then Cyprien after. Q10 was then able to snip one of the red wyrms from range 8 with machine pistol before the red wyrms reached him. The last red wyrm then got a 3/3 on Q10, but I rolled a 2/5 to only take 1 wound. Q10 then finished off the last red wyrm and Boromir conceded with a 1 life Sonya left.

dok won a battle of two powerhouse armies. For the second straight time, both me and my opponent were playing both our own pods:

dok led with a Rat screen and then Braxas. I tried not to attack Rats and Braxas was forced to be aggressive, which didn't pan out well. She took out a few Knights but Kaemon's Quick Release eviscerated her, completely killing her in just 3 attacks of 4. After that the game got a little weird. I still had most of my army left, minus the few Knights that Braxas had taken out, and TKN just had to run into it and hope he could pull it out. I had a huge turn with Knights where I threw four attacks, some Gilbert boosted some heightened on TKN, and he only took one wound. Then TKN quintuple disengaged, from two Knights and Raelin, to trample, and only took one more wound from that. From there I just didn't have a lot of dice I could throw at TKN in one turn. I tried my best to focus on Nagrubs and get them off the board but I failed a couple crucial kills with Gilbert and overall just couldn't get enough dice on the Hivelord to get him wounded fast enough, and Nagrubs kept sneaking around to heal him. I also lost two OMs on Kaemon after TKN smashed him, which was a pretty big mistake. It was still close by the end, and the last Stingers made a desperation disengage and Drain play to get TKN to 5 wounds, and Gilbert had a chance to initiative switch one-shot the Hivelord, but neither play panned out. It was a fun game, incredible comeback.

I got the win vs vegie dad in round 2.

I took my Fen Hydra, PKs and Marro Warrios and then got vegie dad's Finn and MacDirks. Vegie dad had my axegrinders, heirloom, mezzo, isamu and his soulborgs.

I moved my Marro Warriors up early and was able to take out a good amount of the soulborgs, while only losing three by the end of round 2. My PKs moved in too and helped take out the rest of the soulborgs and started to work on the Axegrinders. Once Vegie dad brought in Heirloom, things got a bit more interesting and he started taking out units with his orb attack. I lost the rest of my PKs and had to bring in Finn and the MacDirks. I lucked out on an initiative roll in round 8 where I had Finn with three wounds and he had Heirloom engaged with 1 wound. I was able to take out Heirloom with a MacDirk Warrior with a boosted 6 attack. Vegie dad conceded after that with only 2 Mezzos and Isamu left to my full health Fen Hydra, five MacDirks and Finn with 1 health. I also had Wannok for most of the game, which helped take out a few squads. It was an exciting ending to a great game. Thanks vegie dad!!

Hopefully @Matthias Maccabeus will watch when @BiggaBullfrog features that one on 10 points under, so he can learn how TKN>Knights.

edit: yowza what a crazy game. strange maneuvers and tight choke point operations.

Q23 played the setup game between PKs, DCs, and Heirloom. Heirloom was a huge threat to my army setup, so I wanted to make him a priority. So after an OM1 move by me on Concan, I went all in on Spiders. It worked as I nabbed Heirloom (after a nab and kill on a PK) and brought him back to my SZ (taking a LEA hit), and also had spiders make some small hits on DCs. Heirloom bashed in a few, but went down. The choke points made it very difficult for Q23 to manage deathchaser positioning.

After Heirloom went down, Q23 was also down to three DCs, so he had to manage that with half my spiders still on the board. The Monks came into play after that, but MBS and his +1 attack from Unique was able to whittle them done enough.

I got the win with 6 Romans, MBS, 2 mezzos (both markers), and Concan (4 life)

Chris Perkins and I are playing semifinal game now. We will be playing for 1 hour and then resuming if not completed later tonight.


edit: I picked up the win to advance to the Finals

CP and I led all wyrms for the first 2 round and while it was back and forth I came out ahead due considerably to white wyrmlings 11 threat range able to hit CP's SZ to open.

The wyrmling advantage allowed me to kill a few of the Monks before they could advance and that was really huge as the monks and shaolin assault really ran through my spiders.

A crucial lava kill on a monk really kept things from getting tight and Win Chiu was able to kill the last of the wyrmlings and a few hits on a Wyvern but eventually fell.

I won with both Wyverns (both wounded) and 3 spiders.
