quick question...

if i am doing a ke-mo-shi repaint of ralien V1 can i remove the 'wings' on her helmet, and still have her be a legal figure? I ask this because they aren't on her hit zones so it shouldn't affect game play right?

Prob. in the wrong section wasn't sure if this or the customs thread.

-Thanks in advance

What do you mean by legal? If you are trying to use her as a Raelin and you have altered her silhouette in any way, then she would not be good for tourneys.

Re: quick question...

They can still be targeted by "clear sight" so it wouldn't be tournament legal. Many people, however, would just stay cool about it and let you use her since it is such a minor modification.

Fixed.

Jim

Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a wide shot selection!

Re: quick question...

To add to Jim's point of "Fixed", I wouldn't tamper with any figures I intended to use for a tournament. It just makes it easier, and avoids any of the picky people that Jim's wordy comment mentions.

No blade of grass shall go unturned
Let those who have the daylight spurned
Tread not where this green lamp has burned.

Re: quick question...

I suppose if you really got technical about minor changes in silhouette you'd also have to ban any figures that are even slightly bent (i.e. 10th with bent bayonets). There is a slippery slope with this stuff, and more importantly it will not make a difference in 99% of your games anyway.
However, some people are picky about this kind of thing, so I wouldn't use an intentionally modified figure in a competitive setting.

I think there is a massive difference between a figure with an intact albeit misshapen sculpt vs an intentionally modified sculpt. The misshapen sculpt still has all its parts for Clear Sight purposes. The rules talk about seeing that part of the figure. If someone wants to get all upset because the stock figure's form doesn't exactly match the shape on the card then I call douchebaggery.

That is a great word that I will add to my repertoire, most likely at work.

Re: quick question...

I think that it's going to take more than paint and the removal of her helmet-wings to make Raelin resemble Kee-Mo-Shi.

He's refering to when KMS shackled Raelin in the comic/cartoon that was on the hasbro site at one time (might still be there).
