Re: Nooblar's Maps - Updated 6/29: Roundabout

I made and played on the lost caverns, and It's a pretty fun map. It wasn't Mimring/nilfheim Friendly, and it took forever for non flyers to reach the top, but it was fun. It's also to be noted that it was really hard to make since I didn't have enough expansions, but I substituted a second road set.

Glad you had fun, EP. Yeah, I wasn't very discerning in how many expansions I used, but I figure that most people here either have the pieces or can substitute.

I noticed the dragon-hostile characteristics when I played it, too. I figure it's an acceptable loss to gain a more 3-dimensional looking battlefield. Sometimes it looks like the armies are fighting over Kansas, the maps are so flat :P

Great job. Just amazing.
How does this play with non-flyers?

This castle reminds me of the Keeps in Icefalcon's Quest.

Haha, I don't think it's really a playable map. I just wanted to see if I could do it! Thanks for the kind comments!

Your Battlemaps are so multi-layered! It puts my maps to shame! I guess they made the board 3-D and stackable for this reason.

Wizard's Tower is cool Nooblar!

One Game to rule them all, One Game to find them,
One Game to bring them all and in their wallets bind them
In the Land of Valhalla where the Valkyrie lie.

Re: Nooblar's Maps - Updated 6/29: Roundabout

Thanks, Thorgrim. I think the challenge in building more 3D and layered maps is in getting your figures up/down the levels. The Lost Caverns didn't see much combat on the upper level, so future maps should either have more gradual changes in elevation or some speedy way of transporting figures. Besides having teleporting glyphs, one good way of getting down is to put a pool of water at the bottom of a vertical shaft. Now to find a better way of getting up... I should start making more maps now that I won another RotV at the Tree Town Open.

Thank you to you, too, Sokol.

Re: Nooblar's Maps - Updated 6/29: Roundabout

I played on Watchtowers with my friend the other day. IT IS AMAZING. He had

Braxas
Nakitas
Carr
Krav Maga
Otonashi

I had

Kato
Kozuke
Izumi
Isamu
Shiori

He ended up winning, but it was a great battle. It was mostly on the sub-level. The only battle on the top was a bout between Otonashi and Isamu (easily won by Isamu; he just kept vanishing every where). One of the highlights was when Isamu took out Braxas. The Nakitas shooted at him, and he disappeared all the way to the top and destroyed Nashi.

I can't await to build lost caverns, it looks good for the same reasons I liked watchtowers.
