Definitely going to be your mileage may vary situation. Some people will look at the simpler cards and be into it, but see the rulebook and be turned off. Or maybe they'll be turned off by seeing big, complicated cards. Maybe they don't have spare tiles, maybe they don't have a printer. As long as we pick a lane, not much else we can do.

I don't think a rulebook is even necessary for the length of the rules here.

Speaking of, any other opinions on doing auto wound, vs. unblockable, vs. just cutting the wounding bit?

Unblockable, it makes it so you can't just camp out and hide there on purpose some how but isn't so strong that it punishes you for engaging in a pro-longed fight there either.

Well it won't affect figures that can start the game there and I'm honestly not sure how other figures would get there when it's played as a side map. If it's played as the main map, it'd be a pretty big advantage for figures that "live" on the Astral Plane, like Manifestations.

I guess I could see a design that can knock people into the Astral Plan (like Ancient One does in the movies with Strange and Banner) nut yeah, if the only figures allowed on the Astral Plane are figures that aren't affected, seems kinda weird to have the rule at all.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm thinking. Here's the thing, though:

1. It's still a map. So you could technically run games on it as a primary map. If you do that, is it thematic for normal people on the Astral Plane to be in peril?

2. As you mention, Nobody, there's design space for letting people transport others to the Astral Plane and that could matter more if they get hurt there.

I'm leaning towards cutting it for simplicity and because I'm unsure of the theme. I think it'd be strategically worthwhile to port people to the Astral Plane from a main battlefield even if there aren't wounds involved.

I'm mostly just trying to figure out what's thematically correct, though.

But those are manifestations of their soul, not their actual bodies.

I'm not really invested here. Just seems weird we're making terrain with no currant usage of it's abilities.

How about an unblockable die upon entering, but no more as long as they stay on the same space? Like rolling for Molten Lava; if you get that 20, you can stay there the rest of the game without rolling.

There's currently no way for them to enter except at the start of the game. I guess it could be pretty cool to have something like that, that hits once per game, though. Murder on squads (which is actually another reason to think about just cutting this).

I think I need to do some more research on the theme here before deciding if the wounding part makes any sense. It's irrelevant for any uses as a side map currently, though, and I'm not sure this is going to be super compelling as a primary map (though technically usable in that way).
