Thanks to @superfrog and @GameBear for their feedback on various iterations of this concept! I like this one so far, though I'm sure it may need some more tweaks after further playtesting. Hopefully it can bring something a little bit different to your local tournament map pool.

The kids were too nuts so livestream didn’t happen…but we had some good games.

Seagate looks SO good on the table. Really fun aesthetic. The map itself plays pretty well, but my biggest qualm was the northern (near the gate) glyph and map region. Fighting over that glyph was Extremely congested during games and the general location was hard to develop/reinforce from the Startzone. I think “pushing in” (let me know if you don’t know what I mean) the whole region 1-2 hexes and/or spreading out the SZ spaces a bit more toward the North, could help.

Kingfisher. This also looks really good on the table. It looks deceptively large but plays extremely open and fast (which I like and I think is good). Even slow 4-move armies (Legos and Skeles) on this map did just fine developing throughout and I felt like the distributed height really worked. Well done

Thanks for the feedback! I think I know what you mean about Seagate and I'll see what I can do. From memory I think it is tough to move the start zone too much closer or the glyph in too much without making it too close to the start zone, but maybe I can work something out.

And yeah, I think so much of the map being level 1 (like the start zones) makes Kingfisher play faster than it looks. I think flatter maps are an underrated/underexplored component of map-making in general.

I'm glad you liked them and that they played fairly well.
