Capture Points (CP's)

I thought of a cool idea for my latest HS games.

I thought of using the glyphs of brandar as capture points on the map. I had each player pick either 5 glyphs of gerda or 5 glyphs of astrid to use to mark the capture points they owned.
It goes like this. The glyphs of brandar in each players starting zone is replaced by one of thier glyphs, marking it as thiers. The other CPs are marked with brandar glyphs making them unowned and neutral. players may capture these glyphs by standing on them for a set amount of turns( only the capturing player's turns are counted). 2 turns for a neutral glyph and 3 turns for a enemy owned glyph. After capturing a CP, the player replaces the glyph with one of thier own glyphs.
The advantage for capturing these CPs is simple. At the end of the players turn that person may roll the D20. If they roll a 1-14 nothing happens. If they roll a 15-19 they may take any 1 previously destroyed common squad figure and place it ajacent to one of the players controled CP glyphs. If a 20 is rolled, that player may do the same with any common or uniqe squad figure. Also that player may not roll the D20 if they cannot take thier turn(such as all the figures on the card they revield their order markers on are destroyed).

What do you guys think? Please suggest any changes or alterations. And if I'm not being clear please ask me.

That sounds like a really great idea to me. I've been meaning to explore different game types to try to liven up the game a little. This may be just what I was looking for.

I'm happy you like it. I've been playing with it a while and it's lots of fun.
Also I want to add that the glyph of lodin does affect rolling for respawning.

I voted, I like the idea. I think it could make for a pretty interesting scenario idea. I've played games with a "capture the marked areas" scenarios in the past, but this puts a twist on things. I'd love to try this out on a scenario sometime to see how it plays out, if only I could find someone around who actually likes playing scenarios

Moved to the correct forum section (you may get additional response now).

You may wish to rewrite the rules in a rules format rather than one long paragragh. I found it difficult to follow, but, then again, I hate reading long paragraphs on my computer due to the bright lighted background ...

Just because you're offended, it doesn't make you right.

I like the idea, simple but could make for good games. Also, it should give good reason to draft the suicide squad.

Sorry about that. I'm also not that great at writing these kind of things.
Thanks for the move though.

I like your idea. Basically, you've created a respawn points that can be captured. That's pretty neat.

Each player starts out owning one respawn point in their starting zone. Plus, you're D20 roll has a 25% chance of respawning a figure! Each turn!
Have you play-tested this? I wonder how long will a game like this go on?

It's not clear to me if you offer this chance to roll for each Capture Point owned by a player. It reads as though each player only gets 1 chance no matter how many of the Capture Points are owned.
Is that right?
Because, if the player has a chance to roll for each Capture Point they own, it might be a little unbalanced if a player has 2 or 3 of them.

Here is something similar that I have created, only I call them "Control Points." They also serve as objectives for the scenario's victory conditions.
We use them to manage larger battles by using Zone Guardian rules.

Thank you!
And yes, you only get to roll for respawning once no matter how many CPs you have. That way the advantage of having multiple CPs is the ability to spawn closer to the action, and create suprise attacks(spawning and attacking from a CP in a lightly defended area). In the games I used this it took about a hour to do a 1 vs 1 600 point battle. Though it also depends on the map(castles, snow, etc.).
