Re: 10th Regiment of Foot- What's your Army Idea?
Just another offering,
Kaemon Awa 120 MDG 220 Sacred Band x3 370 10th Reg. x3 595 Although you would lose 2 Sacred Band figures on a 24 hex starting zone I feel this could still be competitive. |

I agree with you, Piawak Nice army for a 600 point game!

Re: 10th Regiment of Foot- What's your Army Idea?
I've been trying to come up with a good competitive strategy using no more than 2 squads of these guys. My biggest challenge is preparing to adapt against Zelrig; with all the Redcoats and Romans there could be a grand barbecue.
Marcus - 100 2x Romans - 100 2x 10th Reg - 150 Total - 350 The last 150 is up for debate. It needs a hero-killer, but I'm not sure what. I could take Sgt. Drake Alexander (RotV) and fill the last 40 with Guilty McCreech or Eldgrim (I'm leaning towards Eldgrim, for his spirit) and Isamu. Or, I could take Mimring with Isamu. Lastly, there's Major Q10. Mimring is more maneuverable and can toast groups depending on whether or not they line up, while Q10 can take more hits and ping low-defense squads from a good distance, as well as shoving wrist rockets up a big hero's behind. Either of these options thins the crowd, which is already 17 figures by itself. |

I used this last tournament I played in:
Alastaire 100 Macdirks x2 160 RotV Raelin 80 10th x2 150 Isamu 10 Otonashi 10 For a 520 tourney. I placed 3rd. |

Re: 10th Regiment of Foot- What's your Army Idea?
Someone told me a fairly decent NHSD (540) point army...I forget who.
10th Reg x4 300 (300) Miller's Genuine Draft 100 (400) (see SS's post for my dry humor) Roman Legionarries x2 100 (500) 40 points of filler |

Re: 10th Regiment of Foot- What's your Army Idea?
Maybe try the Sacred Band x2 instead of the romans, and Theracus can be the filler.

Re: 10th Regiment of Foot- What's your Army Idea?
I was thinking of something like this:
3x 10th Reg - 225 Nilfheim - 185 (410) Raelin/Deathreavers x2 - 80 (490) Isamu - 10 (500) Rae or the Reavers are there for the defense that this army badly needs. Other than that, it's 12 redcoats and 1 Dragon worth of range/melee versatility. Isamu is there as a Drake/Rae/Nilf/Zeta assassin. Last edited by Nadom; September 2nd, 2008 at 11:35 AM. |

It's a badly army Nadom? Although, that army is defenitly competetive.
Quadraphonic(x2), Hilo-Scaper, SuperflyTNT 1-4/3-1/3-2/3-2 10-9 = 53% Win pct. |

Quote:
It is pretty competitively minded... I have NHSD and 500 points on the brain. The only thing I worry about when playing the 10th is their weak defense against ranged and/or special attacks. That's what Rae or the Reavers are there for. |

Re: 10th Regiment of Foot- What's your Army Idea?
Nadom, I can tell you that that army is solid. I played Nilf, 10th and one squad of rats at 450 and won a win-a-wave at Gencon. It played very well.
Also, I would highly recommend Rats x2 over Raelin here. Nilfheim really likes to jump around and use his flying+range combo, and that makes him difficult for Raelin to keep up with. The 10th are also very keen on moving to get the bayonet bonus. Add in the fact that the 10th are fragile and not great glyph holders, and you have yourself a potent combination. Like battle reports?
