How's this? Remembered Modok can take temporary control, so I modeled the wording off of him.

PAYOFF!
After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Red Mist, you may choose a Unique Criminal Hero within 3 spaces of Red Mist and reveal an "X" Order Marker.

• If you control the chosen figure, you may take an immediate turn with the chosen Hero, and add 1 automatic skull to that figure's attack this turn.
• If you do not control the chosen figure, once per game, you may take temporary control of that Hero and immediately take a turn with that Hero. At the end of that turn, control of the Hero returns to the player who controlled the Hero who controlled the Hero before the Payoff. All Order Markers that were on the chosen Hero's card will stay on the card. You may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

I like the duality of providing either a bonding turn or a mind control turn.

Treacherous Tactics
Would you be able to do this:

Red Mist moves next to the opponent's Doctor Octopus, reveals the X to trigger Payoff, then takes control of him. While controlling the Ock, have Ock strike Red Mist. If Ock can score a wound, then destroy Doc Ock with this ability.

Final Thoughts
If my idea for Treacherous Tactics is valid, you might need to find a way to nerf it, even though it is pretty situational.

What about something like this:

COWARDLY TACTICS
Anytime Red Mist would receive one or more wounds, you may instead inflict one wound on any figure you control adjacent to Red Mist.

or even this:

COWARDLY TACTICS
Anytime Red Mist would receive one or more wounds, you may instead destroy any common figure you control adjacent to Red Mist.

The latter would completely nerf the ability to take a Hero and wound them through the power and this guy seems like the kind who would hang around more with common thugs anyway.
