Axegrinders of Burning Forge: Mogrimm (see below) felt out of place as just another Warlord for the Romans and needed some more units, so these guys fit nicely.
Mogrimm Forgehammer: One of my favorite figures, the only one here with two different bonding squads.
Mohican River Tribe: Was iffy about including them without Brave Arrow, but I rarely end up using that bonding power anyway. Plus, they're great with Mittens' synergy!

10th Regiment of Foot: Awesome, fun, versatile ranged squad.
Kaemon Awa: My favorite unit hands down.
Marcus Decimus Gallus: Practically required for the Romans, also has synergy with a couple other choices.
Ninjas of the Northern Wind: Wanted more Einar units, and with the lack of special attacks these guys added yet another fun, cool unit.
Roman Legionnaires: Great fun squad with lots of easily-included bonding options (four!).

Airborne Elite: Classic unit.
Greater Ice Elemental: Wanted an Uncommon Hero. Troll and Hydra were out (too many units) and this guy added ice elements (no pun intended) that the Wyvern did not.
Knights of Weston: Another classic unit.
Nilfhiem: My favorite dragon, and I wanted to include a few "5s."
Raelin the Kyrie Warrior (SotM): Much more fun and balanced than the original.
Sir Gilbert: Essential for the Knights, and a "5."

Jotun: Huge fun factor.
Sonlen: Another one of my favorite heroes.
Syvarris: Gotta include one of the longest ranges in the game.
Venoc Vipers: Fun!
Venoc Warlord: Makes Vipers more fun, and can bond with Romans.

Brunak: I wanted a Carrying unit, and he beat out Theracus for anti-hot-lava-death.
Cyprien Esenwein: Powerful yet fun.
Deathstalkers: A counter for units like Cyprien and Braxas.
Drow Chainfighter: Fun filler that's also a "5."
Grimnak: Classic, see below.
Heavy Gruts: A strong rival melee squad for the Romans and Knights.
Marrden Nagrubs: Grubs/TKN is one of my favorite bonding teams to play.
Marro Stingers: Needed another common ranged squad and they fall in the "powerful but fun" category.
Ne-Gok-Sa: Mindshackle was a must-include power for me, and he bonds with Romans!
Tor-Kul-Na: See above.
Zombies of Morindan: Most flavorful unit in the game (probably include a few squads of these)!

Agent Carr: Classic stand-alone hero that has the cool ranged attack vs melee attack distinction.
Braxas: A second awesome dragon.
Krav Maga Agents: Great classic squad, and it's nice to have some uniques.
Major Q10: Yet another favorite figure.
Warforged Soldiers: Can't wait to see how these guys' Tactical Switch power messes with the game.

@Necroblade- I picked 35, because I didn't have much trouble picking 50 and also thought that 50 units per list would be a bit much for everyone to look through. And yes alphabetical ordering would be nice, I alphabetized my list.
You probably put a little more thought into your list than mine. And I see I accidentally left off the Templar when I had to re-do my list, I switched out the krav for them.

I'll add the units with 5 votes to the first post, until I updated it later.(with my fixed krav vote)

Updated my list of 5+ votes (30 units now) after 12 lists and updated the *note at the bottom of the post (note which version of Drake/Raelin you pick).

Changing my vote for Darrak Ambershard to a(nother) vote for Mohican River Tribe. Chainfighter filler already takes care of shadow usage, but I feel Mohicans fill a better role over all than t-glyph-hungry Darrak.

Also, Sentinels of Jandar have 5 votes (I just did a recount, and they're not included in your list in the OP).
