What competitive units are you sick of seeing at tournaments
As the subject line says, what competitive army/units are you just really sick of seeing show up in tournaments. Try to keep it to a list of 5 units, if possible. If you'd like to state why, feel free.
My picks: 1. Well this one is easy, LOL - Major Q9 2. Stingers 3. Glads/Blasts - combined here since you never seem them alone at tourneys, either 4. Raelin - she's just relied on far too much 5. Cyprien - even though I love that little bloodsucking fiend, I see him too much |

Re: What competitive units are you sick of seeing at tournam
Ummmmmm........ Maybe those stinking rebels. I am so sick of seeing tides of blue and grey coming down on to my army and just firing shell after shell.

Re: What competitive units are you sick of seeing at tournam
1. Dumutef Guard
Come on people, there are other fillers. Hasn't anyone ever heard of the Swog Rider? I swear, this guy is in like every other army. 2. Hatamoto Taro As if Ashigaru swarms weren't dominant enough, this flagbearer makes them nearly invincible. How the heck do I kill these 1-defense terrors when they have an additional 50% chance to roll a shield? 3. Marro Drudge Yeah, I know they're only 50 points, but with so many swamp maps in tourneys these days it seems like everybody and their brother throws a squad or two in their army, swamp tunneling all over the place. 4. Major X17 Five life and seven defense, plus I can't move? Talk about overpowered. I know that you can counter him with ranged units or special attacks but you usually have to spend way more than 100 points to take him down. 5. Grok Riders These guys are the worst. They're way too fast to counter them with range, plus they bond with ANY marro warlord, who in turn gives them a HUGE attack! If WotC doesn't issue a card correction to increase their point value I hope the leaders of the community will have the sense to ban Grok Riders from upcoming tournaments. Even with Wave 9 coming out we'll probably see Grok Riders in 8-10 of the Top 16 at GenCon this year. I never lay awake at night wondering how to design an army that will help me win 40% of my games. -- Jexik Do NOT click this link. Last edited by Clarissimus; June 22nd, 2009 at 12:07 AM. |

You got me with the Dumutef Guard, but I figured it out as soon as I read Hatamoto's name. (I've never been to a tourney, but I still know that he doesn't go to them either!) |

Zelrig, though he's not too tough to kill.
I believe Atlaga will be greatly used once he comes out. By contrast, I would love to see Brunak more often (which means I need to bring him to one...) |

I am so sick of fighting the 4th Mass. That's not to say I won't use them, I am just sick of everyone else doing so.
I agree, Taeblewalker. Brunak is a heck of a lot a fun to play. I think I need to come up with more armies that include the Trolticor. |

Re: What competitive units are you sick of seeing at tournam
Up here in the Pacific Northwest, Raelin and Knights/Gilbert are all I'm tired of seeing. I play 'trons, but I've never run into another group of them. Rats aren't oppressive. The 10th show up as much as or more than the 4th; I know some people have just about had their fill of 10th. Q9, Marro Warriors, and Captain America appear often, but not to the point of spoiling a game.
But those Knights! Seems like everyone loves fielding them lately, and always with Gilbert. |

Re: What competitive units are you sick of seeing at tournam
There's really nothing I'm that sick of.... though Major Q10 is probably the one I hate playing against the most... It's like when I see him on the other side, I'm pretty much fighting an uphill battle :/

I hate seeing Q9, Raelin, knights, 4th, and 10th.

Re: What competitive units are you sick of seeing at tournam
I like to see any unit across the table from me, because that means I'm playing Scape.
I've noticed more Knights lately in the Northeast, but there really hasn't been any unit that has been overdone (lots of good mixing up here). -insert signature here- |
