But if you control Darkseid and I control the 5th Precinct Beat Cops, then you can't use the Protect and Serve power, because it isn't on a card you have. Plus, from my point of view, the power says "Anytime a figure you control would receive one or more wounds...". Darkseid isn't a figure I control, so it wouldn't apply.

What if you both controlled Beat Cops? Would you then be able to destroy an opponent's beat cop if your figures was targeted?

I think it's clear the power is addressed to the controller of that card and thus affects figures tied to that card. I think there are several official units that could be (unnecessarily) rules lawyered in the same way.

Did you guys do anything differently when you playtested common squads versus unique heroes?

Oye, that was soooo long ago, and we were just stumbling across how to playtest at the time.... I think I ran Cops VS HHs and Squads as I would any other unit, only I doubled or tripled up on the squads used per games.

Yeah, I would say that we should do a variety of tests for HH's especially, and equal points of similar (as possible) type squads for squad tests. For army tests for common squads we should use a minimum of 2 squads.

For HH tests, we could do:

1 squad vs. like pointed hero (1 test)
2 squads vs. like pointed hero (2 tests)
3 squads vs. like pointed hero (2 tests)
