That's also the same as Prof. X.

Is it thematic here, though? Xavier and Fury are influential characters even outside their specific fields. |

Re: The Book of Chief
I think I’m naturally prone to capturing the theme/feel of things over the exact specifics, and that’s why I’m leaning the way I am on Manipulation. To me, capturing the nastiness of the character and how he’s willing to sacrifice allies is more important than capturing the exact practical effects of how manipulation can work.
Idk, I feel sold on this current direction but I also don’t just want to shut down discussion on the matter. On Patrol Leader, my thinking is that he’s probably quite a bit squishier than Xavier, so I made it so he can sit further behind front lines. He’s definitely a “hide at the base” type character who uses radios and stuff to communicate with the fighters, so it seems thematically sound to me. Whatever he needs to be balanced, though. Pushing for either 165 points or 215 points to get the DP at an even 750 or 800. |

Re: The Book of Chief
Forgive my ignorance, but who are all the DP members? Robotman, Negative Man, who else?

Re: The Book of Chief
Elast-Girl. We also have Changeling, but I don't know if he's being considered a 'core' member?

Re: The Book of Chief
Yeah, Beast Boy (Changeling) wasn't ever really as much of a core member. Him and Mento were the later additions to the original team, which consisted of the Chief, Robotman, Negative Man, and Elasti-Girl.

Re: The Book of The Chief
Nobody, what was the thinking behind his bonding with a single Unique Hero? How does that play out thematically?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of The Chief
I mean the big reason is that I like him playing similarly to Xavier. I think it's thematically justifiable (he has a supernaturally good silver tongue where he can basically talk anybody into doing anything) and it allows the Patrol to work just a little better with other factions like the Titans, who they have some decently strong ties to. But if we're not feeling it, I'll cut it. I don't know if I've ever used that option on Xavier anyways.

I guess the thing I'm feeling is that I'm OK with him doing what Xavier does as well as Xavier does it for his own faction, or doing something just for his own faction better than Xavier does it for his, but not doing all the leadership stuff Xavier does better than Xavier does. Does that make sense? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of The Chief
I mean, has anyone ever used Xavier for his Unique Hero bonding? This is essentially just a slightly better Master Manipulator which has never been a particularly valuable power. I agree that it reads a little wonky, but it's such a minor piece that it doesn't really bother me.
