Anyway, I am probably just your average, casual repper. I don't think that a user needs to make a show stopping performance of a post to get a little rep, so I will not think too much into slipping 5 or 6 points of a bar in there somewhere if someone makes a halfway decent post.

Might I suggest another category? I think I'm a Fun Repper. I give rep when it is fun to do so, sometimes for a single excellent post, sometimes for a funny remark, sometimes to reward an outstanding effort or contribution to the site, sometimes to comfort the wounded (i.e., pity-rep), sometimes just to say, "Hi!" to someone. That means that I have not given any negative rep, because doing so wouldn't be fun for me (or for the other person, I suppose). For me, rep is a toy to play with and enjoy.

(I don't find awful spelling and atrocious grammar fun, so don't give rep to those posts.)

I am a miser with leanings towards a thinker. I think I've given 5 people additional reputation since this thing started.

Oddly enough, I didn't know about the rule about needing at least 20 rep to give it out, as I had already accumulated 20 rep by the time I noticed the little scales, green reputation chits, etc.
