Re: Utgar's Army of Death

Nice idea putting the Jedi in the story. Minutemen however CANNOT be soul devoured by shades. They're common. Not unique. The only way a 4th Mass. could be soul devoured, is if they came out with an elite squad of minutemen (that would be so awesome).

It's not whether you win or lose. It's having the 4th Massachusetts Line that counts!

You are now mixing game mechanics with a fictional story.

Dude, it's a story don't try to put sense in it.

Re: Utgar's Army of Death

Are you guys saying that mixing game mechanics into this story somehow mars Heroscape in some way? If so, I just want to say sorry for posting what I did before we all get into some muck-slinging discussion where someone gets neg repped.

Absolutely. I, personally, don't see anything wrong with letting common figures get soul shackled. Onacara, however, thinks differently.

Wait...if Onacara thinks differently, wouldn't that mean that he would agree with what I said?

Re: Utgar's Army of Death

Here's part four of the story.

The sniper looked down at Cyprien, keeping his gun trained on him. The vampire new it would be all too easy to kill the guard, he was just waiting for an opportunity. He had to get back to Utgar and warn him of the new danger that threatened the forces of evil. Like lightning Cyprien leapt up and started towards the sniper. The soulborg coolly lowered his gun and fired. Cyprien wasn’t there. The Omnicron looked around questionably. “I need reinforcements!” Looking around, he let out a hail of bullets in a vain attempt at wounding the elusive foe. Cyprien chuckled as he slammed his body into the robot, knocking him down before slicing through the wires in its neck and shutting it down.

Obi-Wan raced into the room, lightsaber drawn. Besides the body of the Omnicron sniper, the place was empty. The Jedi knight put his weapon away before stepping out. “The vampire has escaped.”

The next day the army was moving towards Nastralund to meet with the other generals. Something would have to be done soon. Even with the Jedi here to balance the scales, the war would soon be over. What was to stop Utgar from summoning more men and give them a drink from the wellspring? The allies had to do something, and they had to do it quickly. That night Jandar, Vydar, Ullar, Einar, and Aquilla discussed their plans. “All I’m saying is that we should send our armies to bypass Utgar and take over that wellspring,” said Vydar angrily. “I think that we have been far too cowardly. So what if his army is a little bit more powerful, if all of us work together, we can most easily take out the enemy.” Ullar sighed as he said, “Vydar, try to calm down. Yes, I do think that it’s a good idea to take out the wellspring, but just how are we to do that? We shouldn’t drink from it; that sort of power is not meant for anyone, but how are we to destroy it? We can’t guard it because that would leave the rest of Valhalla unprotected. Also, it would be foolhardy to attack Utgar right now. Even with all of us teamed up, we couldn’t possibly defeat him right now.” Vydar sat down heavily, his eyes downcast at the imminent doom that the future held in store for them. Suddenly, he brightened up. “I have a plan,” he said confidently.

Agent Carr was busy whetting his blade when an agent walked up to him. “Agent Carr, Vydar has need of you in the summoning room,” the man reported. Carr sighed.
“What does he want now?”
“Don’t know, but it sounded urgent. He also wants the Krav Maga to be there too.”
Alright, I’ll be there shortly.”
“Righto, Boss.”
After finishing up his sword, Carr walked to the summoning room. What wacky idea did the general have now, he wondered. One thing was for sure, he wasn’t ready for the bomb that Vydar dropped on him. “Agent Carr, I’m sending you back shortly to New York.” Agent Carr stopped still then shook his head in shock. “YOUR’E WHAT??” Vydar was as cool as ever. “I want to send you back to New York for a mission. “What sort of mission?” “Remember when you were telling me about those, uh, what the word you said? Let’s see… Oh, yes! Those nuclear weapons?” “Yes.” “The other generals and I have come up with an idea to wipe out that army of his. I’m sending you back to 2441 to steal a nuclear weapon for us. If it has the power that you said it does, we shall be able to destroy his army. Also, I want you to get a few bombs for us.” Agent Carr coughed incredulously. “You’re joking, right? General, no offense, but how the heck are we going to pull that off? Nuclear weapons are hard to steal in 2441. This has got to be the stupidest ideas I’ve ever heard.” Vydar smiled. “Have you got a better one, Agent Carr?” The agent didn’t answer. “Good, since you have nothing to say, that’s that. You’ll be sent back immediately.” “Alright general, you’re the one who’s calling the shots, not me.” The Krav Maga entered the room. “They’ve already heard the plan and are ready and willing to go, Carr.” “OK, guys, let’s go,” he groaned. “Step into the portal beam,” the general ordered. After a few seconds, they were all ready. “Beam us down, Scotty,” Carr wisecracked. Vydar smiled as he said, “Goodbye, and good luck.” The next moment, the agents were gone.

“Taxi!” yelled a voice. Agent Carr heard a car door slam and the rubber squeal as the vehicle took off. It was New York alright. Agent Smith was all business. “Boss, we don’t have any time to loaf around; we have to get the nuke back before our side is crushed.” “Your right, Smith, there’s no time to waste.” Silence. Agent Jade asked what they were all wondering. “Well, where are we gonna get the nuke?” Carr snapped out of his stupor. “Uh, I had some secret ties to the underworld of NY. We’ll try that first.”

“Agent Carr, how ya doin, ol’ buddy?!” Max ‘Weasel’ Mulligan was one of Carr’s underworld contacts. He was a greasy little fellow with shifty eyes and a personality to match. If anyone could get his hands on a nuke, it would be Max. Agent Carr smiled as he thought of all the times he’d gone through with this guy. “Well, Max, I’ve got a big one for you.” Max’s eyes narrowed. “Yea, what kinda big un?” “I need a nuke.” “Ah, there my friend, I can help ya. Just recently a terrorist organization has been in town lately. I can’t tell you all the details, but their gonna try an’ knock off some political figures pretty soon. They have a small nuke with a detonation radius of two miles all ready to go. I know where they’re stationed.” “How did you get all this info, Max?” asked Agent Jade. Max showed a toothy grin as he replied, “Lady, ask me no questions and I’ll tell ya no lies.” “Fair enough, Max. Now can you show us where this place is?” said Agent Carr. “Ah ah, cash first.”

Joe was making his usual rounds around the building. It was about 10:30, and in another ten hours the assassination attempt would be carried out. Needless to say, the terrorist group was nervous. Joe was the one of the three security guards in charge of watching the building and reporting to his bosses if he saw anyone suspicious. It was cold, and that made Joe even tenser. Just as he was rounding the building, he saw a man. Joe stopped; the stranger didn’t. “Who are you?” he yelled. Agent Carr came from behind him, raised his pistol and took out the guard. He waved to Agent Smith. A great distraction. The four agents ducked and weaved their way into the building. The next guard saw them and let out a spray of bullets from his Uzi. How could he have missed he wondered. It was the last thing he thought as four separate bullets hit him in the chest. The building was starting to come alive as the terrorists heard the gunfire. Agent Smith shouted, “I seed the bomb! It’s in the middle of the room.” The agents raced for the bomb despite the heavy fire that was going on. “Cover me,” yelled Carr as he grabbed the computer sized nuke along with a couple of small cases of dynamite. The agents spread out, killing their enemies one by one.

Vydar was at the wellsprings, he was having visions of what was going on. “They have the weapon. We have to summon them back before they get killed.” he said as he raced towards the summoning room.

Agent Smith had been killed by a bullet through the heart. The other agents were fatigued and wondering how much longer they could hold up. Agent Carr had just sliced through an enemy with his sword of reckoning. He grunted in pain as a bullet went into his thigh. “For the love of Pete, Vydar get us out of this,” he yelled.

Vydar had reached the summoning room and gripped the glyph of summoning. After he muttered some incantations, the glyph lit up.

“Now you die, scum!” a terrorist screamed while raising his machinegun at Carr. Suddenly, the agents disappeared, much to the astonishment of the fanatics.

Agent Carr blew a sigh of relief. “Boy, general, you summoned us right in time!” Vydar asked anxiously, “Do you have the weapon?” “Yes, we got it.”

Do you even read what people write before commenting?

I was making a point that in a piece of fiction you do not have to adhere to game mechanic so you can soul devour anybody.

So to answer your question Jandarforever...no...Einar Gen actually agrees with me.

Ok back on topic...

Good addition, I personally liked part 3 better though. This one seemed like a link which makes me want part 5.
