You keep placing markers even after it switches.

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) (Design Phase)
I used Insanity Markers because it's the same sort of power as Creeper's (and was pretty much drawn directly from it, at least originally); any reason we'd want to change that? And, with Molly, we used "a maximum of 6 X Markers" wording... would we want to go with that here?
You're right about the turn bit; leftover from Creeper, I suppose. COSMIC MADNESS After using Captain Marvel's Cosmic Awareness special power, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 1-4, place an Insanity Marker on this card. If there is are at least four Insanity Markers on this card, choose an opponent to take control of Captain Marvel. Remove all Order Markers from this card, then give this card to the chosen opponent. Add one to Captain Marvel’s normal attack for each Insanity Marker on this card. A maximum of 6 Insanity Markers can be placed on this card. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) (Design Phase)
Cool, very similar to the last Cap. Marvel, but this guy is psycho. I get definitely get behind that! Awesome theme!
My only question is it was intended that he roll for the markers every time he rolls defense, or only if he chooses to add the extra shield? Also, if we add a marker cap, would he still technically be able to switch sides if you can't add any markers? |

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) (Design Phase)
So when the opponent gets this guy because 4 Insanity Markers are on his card, after the first time that player defends with this guy, he will automatically return to the original player right? When the opponent first gets him, he still has 4 insanity markers on his card, so he would first roll the d20 to see if he rolls 1-4 to add a 5th marker, then regardless of that roll, he hands the card back to the player that started out with him. Is that the gist of it?

No, you'd have to roll a 1-4 for him to change sides... that clause only comes into effect if you do. Or, at least, it should!

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) (Design Phase)
Well, it says if there are at least 4 Insanity Markers on his card.....
The 1-4 seems to only determine if another marker is added from what I can tell. The first time it's obvious that by rolling a 1-4 he goes to the other player because the 4th marker would be placed. But if he has 4 markers already when the other player gets him, then the 1-4 only seems to be needed to determine if he gets a 5th marker before switching back to the original player. Also, you have an "is are" typo in there. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Okay, squishing those two sentences together - how does that look?
COSMIC MADNESS After using Captain Marvel's Cosmic Awareness special power, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 1-4, place an Insanity Marker on this card and, if there are at least four Insanity Markers on this card, choose an opponent to take control of Captain Marvel. A maximum of 6 Insanity Markers can be placed on this card. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) (Design Phase)
Let's break it down. There are three things going on here:
COSMIC MADNESS After using Captain Marvel's Cosmic Awareness special power, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 1-4, place an Insanity Marker on this card and, if there are at least four Insanity Markers on this card, remove all Order Markers from this card then give this card to an opponent. Add one to Captain Marvel’s normal attack for each Insanity Marker on this card. A maximum of 6 Insanity Markers can be placed on this card. Last edited by quozl; June 2nd, 2013 at 09:24 PM. |

The one question folks absolutely will ask with this right away is: If you have no more markers left to place, and roll a 1-4, does he still switch players? Right now I could really read it either way. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) (Design Phase)
Do we think it would be smoother if we just capped him at 4 markers, then? I doubt it'll make much of a difference in the long run, particularly since he'll probably be on his last legs by the time he's switching sides anyways.
