No more Heroscape at Target!?
Unfortunately, it may be true. I heard before WalMart may stop selling Heroscape, but Target too? Below is my story:
Today, I went to my local Target store. For awhile, they'd only have Sotm and Marvelscape or Nakita Agents. I've never seen Wave 7. Last time I went there, there was no Heroscape, at all! This time, not only was there no Heroscape, but the labels for Heroscape were also gone and replaced by some Battleground game. My mom suggested I ask if they'd be getting any new Heroscape, so I went and asked an employee. He said that they wouldn't be getting anymore Heroscape anytime soon! I can still not believe this. Could Target actually stop selling Heroscape? Perhaps Hasbro has moved it to game shops only? This may just be in my area, or just some cruel joke, but I'm really hoping it's not entirely true. Is it happening elsewhere? Maybe this is why it's been taking Wave 8 to so long to get on the market. We may have to start looking other places for Heroscape Last edited by Metaknight; June 13th, 2008 at 05:22 PM. |

Re: No more Heroscape at Target!?
The only source I would trust is Paul's. Until he says otherwise I believe the big box stores will still carry scape in some form.

Re: No more Heroscape at Target!?
I doubt they would stop selling Heroscape there. The Target near by where I live always has a pretty good stock of Scape and it always seems to sell pretty well. I have noticed that they haven't stocked very much lately and there has been a big open spot on the shelf where it used to be... my guess is that they we're making room for the new Wave 8, etc. Crossing my fingers that they have it there today because I'm going today to buy it if they do.

Re: No more Heroscape at Target!?
Heroscape is still at the local Targets and WalMarts here. Both companies modify space allotment for different brands throughout the year. This time of year a lot of summer toys are taking up the majority of the space.

Re: No more Heroscape at Target!?
Not every Target store carries the same product. There may be a market for a product in one area that doesn't exist in other areas. They'll stop carrying an item in a store that can't move it. It doesn't mean that it's discontinued chain-wide.

Re: No more Heroscape at Target!?
It's possible they might not carry certain expansions, but it seems the Master Sets will continue to be found in the big box stores.

Re: No more Heroscape at Target!?
Our target always carries a good selection even when other stores don't... this is probably just in your area. I still have to check our target however...

Re: No more Heroscape at Target!?
One of the three Targets in my area does not carry Heroscape anymore.
However, the other two still stock it and I've seen both waves 3 and 7 there recently. |

Re: No more Heroscape at Target!?
I'd hate to be the bearer of bad tidings with all the optimistic posts but I was at Target two days ago and was told the same thing. They had one SotM and one Nakita pack. I asked if there were any more in the back and after the clerk scanned the barcode he said that, "it looks like we're not going to carry this anymore."
Now, I'm going to make the assumption that that could mean those packs because, stupidly, I didn't ask him to scan the MS. Here's hoping. |

Re: No more Heroscape at Target!?
Target is set to be the main retailer for AA/TJ since Wal-Mart won't carry it. So I doubt they would stop carrying HS altogether at this time.

At my Target, the HS shelf space has been empty for close to a month or more, and the labels have now been covered. Also, the last time I scanned the labels, they came up "discontinued". This is probably what the employee saw that led him to believe they would no longer carry it. However, that is also just how they clear out shelf space. I've seen more than one product become "discontinued", and then come back with a slightly new model or package. I wouldn't write Target off yet. As others have said, Paul has not given any indication that Target would stop selling Heroscape. |

Ah, Battleground. I played it as a kid and it was sort of silly fun. The recent re-release has blatantly ripped off Heroscape's marketing, but the base game is still, well... not really a game. I've already seen it go into pretty massive (and long lasting) clearance everywhere around here, so I can't imagine its doing particularly well. |
