Re: The Book of Ravage - Breathing
I had some Hunter/Creature stuff in mind for Calypso (Kraven's gal pal). I'm backlogged enough that I couldn't promise getting to her anytime soon, though.

I also wouldn't mind keeping it to being more Stealth Pouncey to make the first Ejection (that... sounds wrong...) more strategically significant. |

Re: The Book of Ravage - Breathing
Alright, this is what I'm updating the SP with. Don't recall if Pounce Attack has already been used for a power name on one of the other cat themed characters, open to a new name there either way. If no objects, I'll call for a vote tomorrow. Going to try and knock out the Soundwave initial tomorrow too.
NAME = RAVAGE SPECIES = CYBERTRONIAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = HUNTER PERSONALITY = CUNNING SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM ? LIFE = 4 MOVE = 7 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 130? CASSETTE STORAGE At the start of the game, instead of placing Ravage in your start zone, you may place this figure on the Army Card of any figure you control with the Eject! Special Power. POUNCE ATTACK When attacking normally, add 1 automatic skull to whatever is rolled if Ravage was not engaged at the start of your player turn. ARMOR PIERCING ROCKET SPECIAL ATTACK Range 5. Attack 4. For each skull rolled when attacking with this special attack, the defending figure subtracts 1 from its defense. Ravage can only attack a non-adjacent figure with this special attack and can only use this special attack once per round. |

Re: The Book of Ravage - Breathing
I'd make Pounce Attack only for adjacent attacks for reusability. I like it otherwise

Re: The Book of Ravage - Breathing
He feels pretty juiced to me for a low-100s unit. 4 Attack + an auto-skull whenever he enters an engagement is really potent, plus a special attack on top of that. That + Eject + 7 Move is really potent. I might go down to 3 Attack - that should keep his points down, but also encourage him to run around more often, which feels appropriate for a wolf (dog? coyote?) robot.
I do like him though. Great use of Eject and I've always loved Armor Piercing Rocket. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The Book of Ravage - Breathing
Yeah, I can see dropping the base attack down to 3. His main deal in combat is the initial pounce, then after that he's not that potent a threat and I do want to keep his points a bit lower than Laserbeak if I can. I'll make that change now. I only wonder if he would need some kind of disengagement power somewhere, but I suppose you can always just draft Weather Wizard or Storm with him. Maybe Rumble/Frenzy will become a useful ally if they can help him break free of an engagement with their earthquake pounders.

Cat Robot. His original toy is supposed to be a jaguar specifically. Hence his super creative Japanese name... Jaguar. Also sometimes known as Black Panther Man.

Re: The Book of Ravage - Breathing
Just a quick idea here:
POUNCING JAGUAR When attacking an adjacent opponents figure with a normal attack, add 1 automatic skull to whatever is rolled if Ravage was not engaged at the start of your player turn. When rolling defense dice, for each blank rolled, you may immediately move Ravage one space up to 6 levels up or down. When Ravage moves using Pouncing Jaguar, he will not take any falling damage or leaving engagement attacks. Only moves on blanks defensively so it shouldn't be all the time, or allow him to move very far, but it should let him jump on and off targets and run about the board a bit more. Thoughts? |

Re: The Book of Ravage - Breathing
I think adding a defensive power is only going to drive his points up more.

Re: The Book of Ravage - Breathing
I think he’ll have an interesting predatory playstyle already between Pounce and the SA. Seems like it’ll really encourage him to only engage when he thinks he can get the kill. That sounds pretty Decepticon-y to me.
