Siege Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Crag of Steel: When revealing a numbered order marker on Siege's Army Card, you may also reveal an "X" order marker that is on Siege's Army Card to activate Crag of Steel for the duration of the round. While Crag of Steel is active, add 3 to Siege's Defense value and subtract 2 from Siege's Attack and Move values. When Siege attacks while Crag of Steel is active, he may attack any or all figures adjacent to him. Roll each attack separately. He really makes for some interesting decisions. Do you rush up and smack with the 5 attack or do you slow roll and attack everything on your way in with the 3 attack that hits multiples? Or maybe you rush in and engage, then activate Crag of Steel to tie up the enemies start zone. He definitely has a friend in Theracus!

At 5Life/5Def, he'll be able to get well into the enemy's ranks before he drops. Is it worth it to drop down to 3 attack for an extra 3 def and whirlwind attack? Duh, since when is 3 attack dice inadequate? I think he's my favorite D3 card so far! Talk about 'puttin the HERO back in heroscape!

I think I really like Crag of Steel. It looks like the most skill-testing heroscape ability to-date.
Congratulations to the design team. Siege is something I would have never expected, and the inherent tension in the design is absolutely brilliant. I don't need no instructions to know how to rock.

I love this figure, 5 def and 5 life is already hard to kill and then het has the crag of steel power too

When I was reading the card on my phone, I couldn't see his MRAD was, and I was hoping his stats would be high. I know 5 is high, but when subtracting 2 move, that brings you down to a move 3 in order to get 8 defense. Any Ranged unit with at least 6 move 7 range will be able to maneuverer around Siege with no problem.
I hope he wouldn't be my last unit for that reason, sure he could slowly walk through destroying your melee units, but he lacks the ability to get to anyone that can fly or use range on him, and even with 8 defense high life, he would go down. He goes threw screens, and melee armies great though. |

WOW!!! He's a beast. You're absolutely right about ranged being able to simply avoid him. He'll need someone that will be able to chase down those nasty ranged buggers. Against melee though he'll be a beast.

This guys loves Warforged soldiers. Just pop down 3 in front of him, wait to be approached my a melee force, Use tactical switch on OM 1, then put OM 2 and 3 on Siege and go to town. A very simple Meatgrinder.

But, having a 5-life, 8-defense Shaolin Monk rampaging around your starting zone is scary as heck. Imaging this guy riding Brunak into battle. That's a pretty darn intimidating 1-2 punch there - both of them can just go crazy on everything adjacent and both have a ton of defense. I'm actually not sure I like him holding a glyph. Crag of Steel requires that you put at least one OM on him, and when I have a figure holding a glyph, I like to just forget about it and use my other figures to attack.
