Halloween Pumpkin Patch
Happy Halloween!
I figured it was the right time to make a pumpkin patch. I've been experimenting with putting terrain features in the lines between hexes. This prevents you from placing hexes on these, but I would always be using customized terrain on the top level anyway, and have no particular reason to place more hexes on top of this. The one issue is that large 2-space figures can no longer fit on these spaces... Any ideas for how to get around that issue? The pumpkins have a height of roughly 1. The wall is a height of 1 on the one space (the figure rests on both the wall and the pumpkins on that space). The other two spaces have a wall with a height of 2. I'm thinking next time I should make the wall thicker so that figures can stop on it at the higher points as well. The figures still fit in the spaces, although admittedly they don't have as much room to maneuver within each space. The pumpkins are pretty easy to make... I sculpted these out of clay using a wooden skewer to make the lines (I don't have any sculpting tools). And I painted them with cheap craft paint. |

Re: Halloween Pumpkin Patch
That is pretty sweet and creative man! Way to get into the holiday spirit. I dont think that 2 space figures not fitting as being an issue, unless you wanted to make them destructible terrain features that could be removed from the board when they get walked on. I would like to see more of your custom terrain. +rep to you

Nice work, Pumpkin Man. And +rep for using homemade, scape-related, Halloween decorations as avatars.

I'm not so much worried about the couple of spaces on this particular base, but if I do a LOT of in-between tex terrain, then 2-space figures may have a disadvantage. Probably it's not an issue, but I don't want aesthetic things to alter player strategy too much. I like the destructible idea, though. Hmm... |

What, no Linus custom? ^_^
(that would be fun to see...) Anyway, great work! I know I wouldn't be able to do it this well myself. Sup3rS0n1c = Alexander the Great (August Cave) = Siege (Floating Archipelago) |

Re: Halloween Pumpkin Patch
I made a great pumpkin and it looks sweet, if you make one, make it the size of a baseball and cram a hex into the bottom to make it fit!
