Army Test

- What should be the unit's point value? N/A
- Give a brief overview. On a map choked with shadow and jungle and a powerful Kryptonian looming, all the glyphs saw significant use.
Map: Custom – 2 of each glyph were scattered around the map in strategic positions. Fifteen Shadow Tiles and 18 jungle pieces were scattered around the map.
Units: Superman (400), Ronan (360), Kree Scout x6 (240) (1,000) vs. Super-Skrull (Rl’nnd) (280), Super-Skrull (Kl’rt) (340), Skrull Warriors x3 (330), Skrull Infiltrators x5 (50) (1,000)

Spoiler Alert!

Superman survives it all with 4 wounds from a Kryptonite Gauntlet wielding Kl’rt, and 1 wound from Rock Wall Bounce Back.
With Superman around, Kl’rt definitely went after the Kryptonite Gauntlets and both Superman and the Kree Scouts tried to occupy spaces they were on to stop him.
With Skrull Warriors bunching in clusters of jungle and on shadow tiles, the Infrared Goggles were popular choices with Ronan and Superman, and the First Aid Kits healed 2 wounds from Ronan (who then whiffed on defense against Kl’rt to nullify the usefulness of this) and 2 wounds from Kl’rt, who still fell to Superman in the end.
Superman caught Rl’nnd and most of the Skrull Warriors unawares in their starting zone while Kl’rt was juggling glyphs and killing Kree Scouts.
Side note: Moving Kree armies around with the scouts is a lot of fun!
Each of these glyphs felt useful and worth fighting for.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Superman with 2 life wins Turn 1 Round 8.

Units: Rogue (300), Jubilee (60), Strong Guy (215), Toad (95), Multiple Man x11 (330) (1,000) vs. Vixen (150), Supergirl (320), Billy Batson (60), Captain Marvel (360), Oracle (110) (1,000)

Spoiler Alert!

Another really close one with Oracle with 2 life tangling with 3 Multiple Men in end game! She killed two of them, but one came back. Back when it was 5 Multiple Men left against Vixen and full life Oracle, I thought the JLA had a better chance, but Vixen’s Bear Power couldn’t beat out a hot D20 from Multiple Man’s Dupes.
The First Aid glyph got the most love here, with heroes battling for it and Captain Marvel and Supergirl ending up as the beneficiaries.
I had tons of fun with Solomon’s Wisdom and Oracle’s surveillance abilities playing off of each other to all but ensure the JLA initiative without wasted turns, meaning Captain Marvel got to heal 3 wounds from Stamina of Atlas. These 5 wounds healed by Captain Marvel and Billy’s 3 appearances on the battlefield (lots of SHAZAM!) resulting in 3 Shazam! wounds for Strong Guy, 2 for Rogue, and 3 Multiple Man Shazam! deaths (no Dupes rolls there!), meant Captain Marvel was his team’s MVP for sure!
Strong Guy and Multiple Man finally finished Captain Marvel off, though, in part thanks to Strong Guy transferring 5 wounds (which would have easily finished him off) to Captain Marvel, taking him out. Billy Shazamed his way in, failed to put the final wound on Strong Guy, and was taken out pretty easily.
Supergirl came out next, making the Kryptonite Gauntlets more relevant (Rogue had already put 3 wounds on her, 2 with the Kryptonite, but she healed two). While Multiple Man tied the Girl of Steel up, Strong Guy got the Gauntlets and used them to help finish Supergirl off, along with the help of another lucky transference roll.
Then Strong Guy and Multiple Men went after Vixen and Oracle, but Vixen Bear punched him out and end game proceeded from there.
Supergirl carried the Infrared Goggles for a bit and got some use out of them, and they would have been handy to carry at points when Vixen and Oracle were attacking Multiple Men, but overall they were overshadowed in importance by the Kryptonite Gauntlets and the First Aid, so it wasn’t as pressing to track them down.
Still, all the glyphs were light, fun touches here!
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Multiple Man x2 wins Turn 3 of Round 12.

Yep, that was my first time taking him out. Mostly melee armies really let him shine! Since I'm working all with glyphs, I really tried to play a lot of my "unplayed" list - lots of great work there!

Map: Negative Zone
Units: Lex2, MODOK, Loki vs. 2x Kang, Supergirl, Martian Manhunter

Spoiler Alert!

Martian Manhunter grabbed the First Aid then Loki came after him. Loki got hit a lot but couldn't hit MM so he teleported away. Kang grabbed the Krytonite but lost them as Lex blasted him and Supergirl. MODOK grabbed them then pounded on Supergirl until she was destroyed. Martian Manhunter flies up and is blocked with Psychic Forcefield. Then Designed Only For Killing makes MM drop the First Aid Kit. Loki grabs it and teleports away then uses it next turn. After that, they just beat up on each other ignoring the glyphs.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? MODOK with 3W and Loki with 4W remained.

Only First Aid and Kryptonite were used. The Goggles were useless with everyone flying to height.

Units: Zauriel, Deathstroke, Baron Von Strucker, Dr. Light vs. 2x White Martians, Red Tornado, Superman

Spoiler Alert!

Deathstroke and Baron von Strucker moved to shadow, but a wHite martian grabbed the Infrared Goggles and shot at Deathstroke. Superman moved in front of the Kryptonite to protect it. Deathstroke grabbed Bat-Grapple and tried to go for the Kryptonite but Red Tornado blew him farther away.Dr. Light grabbed First Aid but the other White Martian flew in and hit him so he dropped it next to Red Tornado who grabbed it. A White Martian knocked the Bat-Grapple glyph from Deathstroke and Baron knocked the First Aid Kit from Red Tornado. Deathstroke made the White Martian lose the goggles. Zauriel destroyed Red Tornado and grabbed the First Aid. Superman moves up and knocks it out of his hands. Zauriel grabbed it again and used First Aid. Then everybody beat each other up.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Superman with 3W and a White Martian with 1W remained.

All glyphs were used except Kryptonite which Superman and Red Tornado ensured would not be used.

I am kinda shocked that neither you or Quozl used Batman in any of these tests.

I think they used these tests to play some units that they haven't had a chance to play yet. I don't blame them, this is as good of a time as any to do that and our current Batman design isn't really tied to these at all.

Yep, that's it exactly. Though I'm sure we'll both use him when we do the Bat Shurikens (since they work better with Driven Vigilantes). Also, we both know we'll be playing all of them with Batman 2.0 soon enough!

That is the only reason I didn't pump the breaks here and ask for more testing. Because testing "bat-utility" items with Batman is a no brainer.... duh... of course that has to be done.
