Portable Heroscape
So, yeah... Wife's running errands, baby is asleep, and I got bored.
Then I saw this blue Five Star zippered binder lying on top of the mountain o' HS in the corner. Now, I knew that thing could hold a couple D&D-size books, but I got to wondering... And now your friends can't say, "No, no HeroScape tonight, I don't want to lug it all over." http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n...g88/Heroscape/ -scare When people hear that I watch wrestling, they ask, "You know it's fake, right?" To which I answer, "Yes, but so is American Idol and the nightly news, and look how many idiots watch that." |

Re: Portable Heroscape
holy cow, that is a pretty awesome find/idea. I currently have small bits of terrain assembled in some boxes so that I can quickly play when necessary. But wow, nice!

Re: Portable Heroscape
Very nice! If you add some Lexan Terrain Maps into the equation, you will get even more use out of the minimal terrain you bring.
If you use a mat and bring more smaller pieces instead of the large 24 hex pieces, you'd be able to create more height configurations. |

Re: Portable Heroscape
Thanks guys. It was just a random idea I had while surfing around here, thought maybe it would give a couple people a smile.
Cheetaman, welcome to the site! If you like HS as much as the rest of us, you will soon be spending quite a bit of time here. Just do yourself a favor, and start by paying attention to the stickied topics in each forum. They all have great information for anyone new to the site. And the link in my sig will help, too -scare When people hear that I watch wrestling, they ask, "You know it's fake, right?" Re: Portable Heroscape
Here is another great way to do it....
Get yourself a 3" mailing tube and one of Cav's mats. Then print out Raud's trading card size cards. Now you roll up the mat and put it in the tube. This will leave enough room in the middle of the tube for a bunch of 1 and 2 hex pieces as well as dice, markers, glyphs and figs plus the cards. You can attach a shoulder strap to it if you are travelling via bike or walking or throw it in a backpack. |

Re: Portable Heroscape
Thanks very much for the Lexan map links, and the idea about the tube, that sounds like a cool little rainy day project, lol. I already have the trading cards, and there's a UPS store just up the street. *checks the weather*
Wow, wish I could have gotten in on that contest. I buzzed through, and there looks to be some really fun small setups there. I'll have to go through it more thoroughly later, baby is awake and I'm trying to get him to say 'skull' 'shield' and 'whiff' -scare When people hear that I watch wrestling, they ask, "You know it's fake, right?" Re: Portable Heroscape
The nice thing about the tube is that you can change the map for different games based on where you place the extra hexes without losing the size of the battlefield
