Making Cheap Bridges

Hello,

I one saw a picture of somonmes map in which they used clips to fix hexes together to they could make a bridge.

Anyone know of any other great ways to make bridges without needing to purchase the forest set?

Check almost to the bottom of this thread.

Sydcomebak took a picture of how he made a larger crossing/bridge using clips.

The clips are pretty much your best bet. Before the forest set came out I made a bunch of bridges out of balsa wood, which worked well and were easy to make. Even if you make them kind of sloppy, they just look like old rickety bridges.

Are you just curious of other ways to build bridges, or do you know of a problem with the 'clip' bridges? Because that's the sturdiest way that I know of - before I saw that idea I was making rather elaborate arch designs that took up a lot of terrain to construct. The small binder clips don't even hang down far enough to be noticed.

Why not just go to the corner office supply store and pick up some, with no shipping charge?

Thats pretty expensive for public transportation. When I made bridges before the RTTFF expansion came out, i would tape the bottom and the top. The tape worked pretty well holding a few peices, but long bridges never worked right ecause it would fall. Even if i added support to the other side, it would fall in the middle, making an arch, but the wrong way. Sometimes the tape would just fall off and the bridge would collapse. So I made a game where weak tape was used. The purpose was to kill the enemy by passing under a bridge. If there were any units that were hit when the bridge fell, they would die. So large armies would fall from 50 men to about 10. It was a pretty fun game, until one time where the bridge never fell, so then I just quit that.

Very cheap to make Bridge.

Hello everyone,

I'm a complete amatuer when it comes to making scenary.
But I wanted to make some bits for my game.

My first creation completed today, is a ruined concrete bridge, made from 2 pieces of balsa wood.

Here are the cut pieces.

After being painted, glued, inked and then grit scattered on it, and with a few more pieces broke to make it even more ruined, it is finally complete.

I actually outdid myself I think. This is completely new to me.

What do you think of my first attempt? Any pointers?
