2 days. Lol. But that was also figuring out the tools, how to approach the problem, etc. Took a 2D painting, put it in paint 3D, traced 3D bubbles for each big body part (head, torso, arm, etc). Got them aligned, brought them into Blender where they are miniscule so had to scale them up. Now that I know how to do that part, 20-30 minutes going forward. Sculpting the model in Blender is the next task, I imagine it will be the most difficult. Stupid sleep and work are really setting me back here.

I think in 3 months I’ll be able to make some .stl files worth sharing here. The whole process really is about as much art as it is science. Very fun though

I picked up a partial Tundra set back a long time ago and I've customed the large glacier that was missing but Ice tiles are something I've had trouble finding. Have you printed any of the tiles. If so how did they fit?

I have printed many of the tundra/rock outcrops. I have been giving them away as tournament prizes at the Utah Monthlies. They are a big hit. I can print all the 1,3,4 hex rocks/glaciers in one piece. There is a file for the 6 hex glacier that is in segments on thingiverse. As far as the hex tiles go Ive printed a bunch of the shadow/ice/water tiles. I printed mine in black to glue the rocks to but you could most definitely print in any color filament you wanted. They fit well. The file I use I scale from 100 to 10 and it fits perfectly tied in with original tiles. I do those 4 at a time with the top down.

So you have all these files already properly scaled or is it specific to your printer?

Sorry I know I've pestered you a lot about this but I'm really intrigued.

I'm sure you're having fun creating, but in case you want a shortcut, there are several free wolverine .stl files available. I usually check thingiverse.com and yeggi.com for free files.

Sorry I know I've pestered you a lot about this but I'm really intrigued.

I was worried about scale when I first got my printer, but it was needless worry.

3D printers have scaling functions, and grids, so you can get them to the size that you want. For most Heroscape files, they either need to be scaled up 25.4x or 10x depending on the model. A quick look on your screen will tell you if they look right.

For free models on the internet, they can be any size. You can scale them on your printer, but I usually import them to Blender and put them onto a Heroscape base, comparing them with a Heroscape figure for size.

What did you search for? I could only find masks or large models with multiple parts. Those are both awesome

"Wolverine" and "Wolverine figure"

I started at thingiverse and yeggi and did my searches.

Very odd. Thingiverse only give me 3 results, and none are a wolverine mini. Yeggi gets me thousands of results at least, just have to dig through them.

A lot of what comes up when searching on thingiverse is how its worded. Ive been printing a collection of rather large Plants vs Zombies plants for my mom and was disappointed to only find a handful of models. After Id finished all those I just typed in pvz instead of it all spelled out and found double the amount with lots of fun stuff Id not seen before.
