Japanese Card Preview

Im not really sure where to put this, so Im trying here.

Anyways, Im over in Japan which have one problem. Like most people not in the US, heroscape isnt very popular. The only difference for here is that its in a totally different language, mainly english, so no ones really going to get into it. Im hopping that since the game is going to Wizards and Magic is in Japanese over here, Heroscape will follow.

Until then though I have taken up the task of translating the game into Japanese.

Now, its still a work in progress, not pretty and most likely has some problems with the translation, but I took a card and translated it. I didnt use any programs, just my own skills, so its closer then something you could just google translate, but still far from perfect.

Let me know what you think I guess. Im hoping that Wizards will start to do this so I dont have to, but until then Ill be working. Also, I dont have photoshop or anything like that, so if someone wants to help me in that part, either by helping me get the program or doing the editing for me, I would be thankful.

I have to agree with the honorable Rev. I dished out some positive reputation.

I don't know what percentage of people in Japan speak English, but if I were WOTC, I would investigate and definitely consider getting Heroscape cards and rules printed in Japanese. It wouldn't hurt to look into printing in other languages as well for potential huge markets. Of course it's easy for me to say since I don't have to pay for it to be done.

Re: Japanese Card Preview

For all I know, that card could say "Stupid americans, spending money on plastic crap made in china!", and I wouldn't know the difference. My ignorance of the written Japanese language is vast.

I applaud your efforts though, and wish you all the best in getting this done! I'm sure there will be folks who can appreciate it!

Any method of widening the appeal of heroscape, is worthy of praise from me!

I'd put a sig here, but I can't think of one. Greetings from my PSP!

That's a good point. At any rate, anyone who tries to spread the joy of Hero scape is a friend of all of us here at 'Scapers.

(I sure do say "at any rate" or "anyway" quite a lot, huh?)

Re: Japanese Card Preview

Oh no, Samurai are all good. There is even a place set up in Kyoto to be a Samurai Village. Kind of like the western towns in Kansas or Texes. They film tons of movies and TV shows there.

Im going to take on the Japanese cards first, the Ninja and Samurai, just cause, you know, it kind of matches.

Well, while I am all of the above, I am American. No matter how hard I try, Im still a stranger in this land. Learning the language is helping, and maybe a blood transfushion or something like that will help...
