Stealth Leap: Used to finish a movement in order to trigger Pounce (wasn’t really needed otherwise).
Pounce: Added an extra die to an attack that resulted in 3 skulls.
Defensive Agility: N/A

Both figures moved through the houses, slowing them down, then Alfred hit Cheetah with a 3 skull shotgun attack (Cheetah whiffed), and Cheetah pounced Alfred, and he whiffed and fell.

Stealth Leap: Used twice to navigate uneven terrain and use Pounce.
Pounce: Used on her only attack to get a 4 skull roll.

Alfred circled around one house and Cheetah leapt to height. Then Alfred moved out and shot Cheetah, landing one wound. She leapt down, pouncing on Alfred, and KO’d him.

Defensive Agility: Aqualad never rolled enough skulls to make this relevant.

Water Leap moved Aqualad quickly across the map. With no range, he quickly engaged Cheetah. He rolled poorly and she rolled well and it was over quickly with normal attacks.

Cheetah circled through a house for coverage, but Iron Man used his Propulsion Boots and used Magnetic Turbo Insulator through an open door, putting Cheetah adjacent to him on height disadvantage and inflicting one wound on her. Cheetah failed her attack on Iron Man, then he hit Magnetic Turbo Insulator again, rolled 5 skulls, and she whiffed her defense to fall.

Stealth Leap: Helpful for moving over uneven terrain.
Pounce: Helped her inflict 3 quick wounds early.
Defensive Agility: Blocked a 4 skull roll with 1 shield in Round One.

ROUND ONE: Cheetah leaps across the map, while Iron Man uses his Magnetic Turbo Insulator from height disadvantage and fails it this time. Cheetah takes advantage of this window to Pounce, hitting him for 3 quick wounds. He fails his Insulator again, but rolls 4 skulls, which she blocks thanks to Defensive Agility.

ROUND TWO: Cheetah wins initiative and Iron Man whiffs against a 3 skull attack to end it.

Units: Cheetah Vs. Shadow Thief (70)
Stealth Leap: Used to trigger an early Pounce.
Pounce: Helped her get an early 2 wound attack in.
Defensive Agility: Used to block 2 skulls with 1 shield.

Cheetah pounced to get the first wounds on Shadow Thief. He failed an attack on her, then she finished him with a 3 skull attack.

ROUND ONE: Lots of maneuvering and Shadow Thief got in the first attack, which didn’t land.

ROUND TWO: The foes trade ineffective attacks, then Cheetah scores two wounds, and Shadow Thief whiffs an attack. They trade ineffective attacks again to end the round.

ROUND THREE: Shadow Thief fails another attack, then Cheetah finishes him.

Summary of the game: Sandman moved through the house on his side and strategically placed his Sleeping Gas. Cheetah darted around it and engaged Sandman in the doorway, rolling 4 skulls, which he whiffed against, falling fast.

Stealth Leap: Used to get an early Pounce in.
Pounce: Used for an early one wound attack.
Defensive Agility: Blocks a 2 skull attack with 1 shield in Round 1, and a 3 skull attack with 1 shield in Round 2.

Summary of the game:

ROUND ONE: Sandman emerges from a house after both foes position themselves early, and drops his Sleeping Gas. The Sleeping Gas slows Cheetah, but she counters with a Pounce, and still scores a wound on Sandman. Sandman fails an attack. Cheetah ignores the Sleeping Gas and scores 2 more wounds.


ROUND TWO: Sandman fails an attack, Cheetah sleeps through her turn, and Sandman fails another attack. Then Cheetah KO’s Sandman.

Summary of the game:


ROUND ONE: She couldn’t get in range to Pounce, but Cheetah did get the first attack in, engaging Wonder Woman before she could lasso Cheetah. Cheetah got in 4 wounds on Wonder Woman this way, using Defensive Agility to block Wonder Woman’s attacks. Wonder Woman ended the round by disengaging (Cheetah missed the whiff), hoping to get initiative and the lasso in Round Two.


ROUND TWO: Cheetah wins initiative and uses Pounce, but can’t score a wound. Wonder Woman attacks back, but Cheetah dodges away. The round goes on with everyone dodging everything.


ROUND THREE: Cheetah finally whiffs and falls to a 5 skull attack.

- Give a brief overview. Amazons felt like they could’ve won this with better attack rolls, but with a special attack they should feel like stronger counters to Cheetah. Instead, she managed to pull out a strong win.

Summary of the game

Spoiler Alert!

ROUND ONE: Amazon Warriors surround a house with Cheetah in it, with one of them blocking the doorway from the inside, and they let loose a spear volley, scoring an early wound. She pounces on one Warrior, but can’t hit her. Amazons let loose with their spears again, but can’t score a wound. Cheetah leaps out of the house and onto height, then Pounces on an Amazon, KOing her.


ROUND TWO: Amazons surround Cheetah, but their special attack only hits one skull, and she blocks. Cheetah KO’s another Amazon. The final Amazon whiffs her normal attack. Cheetah has her attack blocked, then whiffs her defenses and takes a wound from a normal attack. Cheetah then finishes the last Amazon with her normal attack.

ROUND ONE: Both sides position, walking through houses to do so. Cops fire at Cheetah three times, scoring one wound. Cheetah Pounce on an officer, but can’t hit him (whiffed on 5 dice).

ROUND TWO: Cheetah gets initiative and Pounces on a second officer, KOing him. Three Cops firing from height disadvantage fail to wound Cheetah, and she Pounces another Officer out cold. Three officers fire again, with the first, from height, scoring 2 wounds, and the others missing. Cheetah Pounces another Officer, taking him out. The Officers fire again and land the final wound.

- Give a brief overview. Deadshot was a key figure, blasting Batgirl, Robin, and a Beat Cop early on. The double activation from Waller was huge all game. Cheetah’s Defensive Agility let her stick around and Pounce in a crowd, scoring lots of wounds. Poor rolls, especially for the D20 for the Vigilante Team hurt them here. Batman managed to pull them close and almost pulled off the win.

ROUND ONE: Waller chooses Black Canary for the special assignment. Vigilantes get initiative and a screen of Beat Cops advances. Waller has Weather Wizard (into the house) and Deadshot (onto height) advance. Green Arrow advances, but the corner of the house blocks his sight line on Weather Wizard. Waller has Bane move next to Deadshot, who blasts a Cop down. Canary advances, moving adjacent to a Cop, and Batgirl and Robin follow after. Cheetah advances to the front of the house on her side, then Deadshot who uses his Sniper Targeting to one-shot Batgirl (who doesn’t have a premonition).

ROUND TWO: Black Canary is the special assignment again. Cheetah advances and takes out a Cop from height (he was too far away to pounce). Deadshot snipes Robin for 3 wounds, then tries to finish the job, and succeeds. Green Arrow’s plans to move into sniping position are stymied by Cheetah’s presence, so he takes a swipe from her and moves into position to shoot Bane, landing two wounds which become three thanks to Piercing Shot. Cheetah pounces between Green Arrow and Canary, hitting Canary with 4 skulls on a 6 dice roll. Canary would’ve taken three wounds, but a Cop sacrifices himself to protect her. Deadshot snipes Green Arrow to finish him. Canary lands two quick wounds on Cheetah with her Canary Cry. Waller has Cheetah Stealth Leap to height (no Pounce since she was already engaged with Canary) and hit Canary for one wound. Killer Croc advances. Canary Cry scores a third wound on Cheetah.

ROUND THREE: Waller picks Canary again. Canary fails to finish Cheetah. Then pounces on Alfred and hits him for one wound. Croc advances. Canary follows the Secret Attack Plan and scores two wounds on Croc, but can’t get her Fists of Fury going. Cheetah Pounces on Batman, who can’t evade, and she scores one wound. Canary blocks Croc’s 2 skull attack. Canary gets her Fists of Fury going and finishes Croc. Cheetah Pounces on Alfred and scores a second wound. Weather Wizard’s Lightning Re-Strike hits Canary for a wound.

ROUND FOUR: Waller chooses Canary again. Vigilantes win initiative and Alfred uses Remote Field Extraction to pull back Canary and heal one wound on her. Then he uses his Shotgun on Cheetah, but can’t hit her. Cheetah Pounces Canary and scores a wound. Deadshot advances. Canary goes, but Alfred can’t patch her up. She uses her Canary Cry, but can’t hit Cheetah. Cheetah Pounces Oracle for two wounds and Deadshot climbs to height but can’t hit Batman from outside of Evasive Strike range. Field Medic fails Canary again and she engages Deadshot, but rolls terribly and he blocks. Cheetah Pounces Alfred for a KO. Weather Wizard’s special attack hits Canary for a third wound.

ROUND FIVE: Waller chooses Canary again. Cheetah KO’s Oracle with a Pounce. Deadshot misses an attack and then tries to betray the team and is blown up by a Micro-Bomb. Batman engages Cheetah but whiffs his Batarang attack. Weather Wizard finishes Canary off with a special attack, stealing OM3. Bane advances. Batman stays put and finishes Cheetah with Batarangs. Bane advances and Weather Wizard advances and tries and fails to hit Batman with Lightning. Batman fails evasive rolls as well.

ROUND SIX: Waller chooses Batman. Batman can’t evade Weather Wizard, but defends like a champ and takes no wounds. Bane advances. Batman punches out Weather Wizard in one go. Bane adds one die with a small Venom Injection, Batman again fails to Evade, and Bane scores one wound on Bats. Trickster advances. Batman hits Bane for a fourth wound. Bane injects more Venom, rolling 3 skulls on 7 dice now, but Batman finally Evades, and hits Bane for a fifth wound. Trickster advances. Batman fails to finish Bane.

ROUND SEVEN: Waller chooses Batman. Trickster advances. Bane injects some Venom, but whiffs his attack. Bane, frustrated, betrays Waller, who blows him up. Batman engages Trickster from height disadvantage and hits the Rogue for one wound. Trickster inflicts one wound on Batman and makes him itch thanks to Itching Powder. Batman loses one from his movement, but Bat-Grapples to height and fails to wound Trickster. Trickster attacks, but Batman evades and hits him for a wound. Batman then KO’s Trickster from height.

ROUND EIGHT: It comes down to full life Amanda Waller versus itchy one life Batman. Waller has no more special assignments to hand out. Batman itches his way into a minus three for his movement, so he grapples instead. Waller advances, but not much faster. Batman has his move reduced to 1, so he grapples again. Waller advances and shoots at Batman from height disadvantage. He fails to evade, but does block. Batman subtracts one from his move, but has enough left to engage Waller from height. He rolls one skull on six dice and she rolls three shields on three dice. Ouch. Waller climbs to height, rolls 2 skulls, Batman fails to evade, and she KO’s Batman for the win.

- Give a brief overview. The Crooks were just too much for two single-attack Heroes to handle, but Cheetah’s bonding and Defensive Agility really allow her to stick around and get into advantageous positions. She should definitely be higher than Tim Drake Robin. Maybe significantly so.

ROUND TWO: Wonder Woman KO’s a second Crook. Cheetah Pounces on Wonder Woman, hitting her for a wound when Wonder Woman whiffs, then Crooks advance, with one managing to engage Wonder Woman, but failing to hit her. Wonder Woman KO’s a third Crook. Cheetah hits Wonder Woman for a second wound. Crooks hit Wonder Woman for two more wounds and Gentleman Ghost backs out of melee. Aquaman advances. Cheetah Pounces on Aquaman, but he blocks. Three Crooks attack Wonder Woman, but don’t hit her.

ROUND THREE: Crime Alley Crooks KO Wonder Woman (ouch). Aquaman tries and fails to hit Cheetah. Cheetah and three Crooks all fail to hit Aquaman. Aquaman KO’s a Crook. Cheetah can’t hit Aquaman, but Crooks hit him for two wounds. Aquaman fails to KO a Crook, but does heal one wound.

ROUND FOUR: Aquaman KO’s a Crook but fails to heal. Cheetah fails an attack, but two Crooks wound Aquaman for a total of two more wounds. Aquaman KO’s a Crook, but can’t heal. Cheetah fails an attack and the Crooks hit Aquaman for a fourth wound. Aquaman KOs another Crook and heals one. Cheetah hits Aquaman for one wound, but the Crooks can’t finish him.

ROUND FIVE: Aquaman KO’s a Crook, but can’t heal. Cheetah finishes Aquaman and wins the game.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:

I thought her vulnerability to range and special attacks would make Cheetah perform worse, but her stats are just solid enough and her synergies are great enough to get her in advantageous positions where she can stick around and get in some nice hits with Pounce. Stealth Leap allows her to bounce in and out of swarms, while Suicide Squad or the Crime Alley Crooks can tie down figures and let her do her work, with no Order Marker risk. She’s a solid counter to Wonder Woman and feels a lot stronger than I thought she’d be, which is just fine.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT:
She’s a lot of fun. I don’t want to change anything, but do want to start her at 120 in public testing.

Spoiler Alert!

Team Robot moves out, and the Thieves advance to meet them. Cheetah didn't come into things at first, with Shocker and Wonder Woman squaring off right off the bat. Wonder Woman flubs an attack roll against Shocker, giving him a chance to team up with the Crooks to deal a couple wounds to her. Angel tries to keep Wondy from getting swarmed, but the Crime Alley Crooks' bonding and movement powers keep her engaged so that she can't easily lasso.

Cheetah starts to get involved in the second round, when Robot takes a potshot at her and deals a couple wounds. Cheetah stealth leaps over to Robot and hits him for a wound. The Crooks follow up with 3 more wounds. Unfortunately for Cheetah, Wonder Woman finally gets her shot at the lasso next turn, and finishes Cheetah off.

Shocker and the Crooks manage to bring down Angel and Robot in a few turns, and there are still too many of them left for Diana to easily bring down after that.

Units: Cheetah, Robot, Red Skull, Atom (Ray Palmer) (600) vs Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Moon Knight (600)

Spoiler Alert!

Lots of good luck for Team 1 here leads to a big blowout.

Moon Knight gets airlifted off the map at the start of the first round. The two teams advance and meet up at the end of the first round, with Team Robot making first contact. Skull attacks Luke Cage (for no damage).

In round two, Skull hits Cage again, this time dealing a wound and passing the Motivator turn to Cheetah. Cheetah lucks out and rolls 3 skulls against a flubbed defense roll, putting Luke on the brink of death. Moon Knight drops in and tries to bat the Cube away from Skull, but fails. Skull finishes off Luke Cage (sinking a couple OMs with him), and he and Cheetah spend the rest of the round going after Moon Knight, but only put a couple wounds on him.

Iron Fist goes down in one strong turn from Team 1, taking wounds from Robot and Red Skull before Cheetah finished him off.

Cheetah wasn't really put to the test here; Team 1 was generally stronger than Team 2, and they caught a few big breaks (Luke Cage dropping the ball and going down with a couple OMs being the biggest). They really only had to face two attacks ever, and even Moon Knight's Crescent Darts both failed the one time he tried throwing them.

Still, she was a fun, cheap option for Red Skull's bonding.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Solid Thief option. Nice and cheap, hits a nice point total (250) with a couple of squads of Crime Alley Crooks. Decent hitter for the cost, requires some long-range attention before she's in your face and annoying.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Very little experience with the character, but I like the simplicity here. She's not a hugely powerful attacker, but she's strong enough that you've got to keep an eye on her and keep her from running you down.

Stuck to low-point battles, which is my default for cheap figures, but I suspect Cheetah would actually be just as well off in a big battle where there are more targets for the opponent.
