So I made a map recently that I really liked but was never able to play on. I got the idea from a similar map I saw here on 'scapers, with enclosed dungeon areas under a plateau. (If this map looks like yours, tell me! I couldn't find the pics of that map after the first time I saw it...that's why I built this map in the first place!) I couldn't bear to destroy it without playing it, so I mapped it into VirtualScape from the top down (boy, that is tedious!). I figured I should share it then, since I have the VS file and everything. This uses 4 MS, 2 VW, 2 FotA, and 3 Rttff, but I made a 2 MS version that basically just removes 4 ruins.

It was intended as a 2 player map, though after I had it together I realized it might work for 3 player as well. In that case, the third player would take the inside and try to fight off the other two players. The ladders would give them quicker access to the plateau, and they would also have two Astrid glyphs (though that might need to be changed...)

Underhill

I thought I would do a little tour from the red starting zone.

There is a small peephole on each side (at the same height as the gauntlet inside the dungeon) to shoot inside or across the map.

The area inside each door is connected to the other by this thin strip of lava rocks.

There is a glyph of Valda (+2 move) on each side, separated from the main underground area by lava, and from the outside by a ruin.

A Glyph of Kelda (Healing) on each side off the stairs. It's one space only, so no healing Jotun or Charos.

Up on top there are holes with ladders leading down to the dungeon. Near the bottom of each ladder is a glyph of Astrid (+1 attack). Near the top if each is a Glyph of Dagmar (+8 initiative).

The highest points on the map are the two perches. To climb them, you must leave the road or jump the fence.

Comments are welcome and appreciated.

naps420 Woo who?
WOW!! Now that I like! Ohhhh how I would love to play that map!! I love the underground area you have and though I am not a big fan of using glyphs, very nice placement. Man I need to build this and play on it soooooo bad!!

Any chance of getting a top-down picture so I could have a look at it? Would love to see this baby from above.

Nice job, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words.

Here's the top down view, naps. Though I see you already made one for yourself!

Also, the download is now available.

That is a pretty sweet map. I like the way it seems to bridge the whole map in the middle. Would be a great place to drop the AE. Thanks for the over head view, I really like the way it looks.

Keep up the great work!

Hey how do you get different angles and how do you get the figures on VS?

Dan's Mom: "Why you persist in acting like a fifteen year old is beyond me."

Dan: "I'm filled with reckless desire."

Thanks! Good to hear it works out well. Any chance of a mini battle report? I still haven't been able to play on it myself!

If you hit the button in VS that looks like 3 gold bars it pops up the 3d view of your battlefield. You can rotate that around with your mouse and arrow keys. In the file menu there is a option to take a picture (or save as bitmap or something). So put the map in the angle you want and take a pic. The figures are in a tab like all the other terrain pieces you put on your battlefield.

Any chance of pictures of the 2 MS one? VScape hates my comp.

In fact... so does SScape... Only LScape really works over here...

~Neko: Leaving, sadly. I hope to see you all around. =^-^=

Making Custom Fixes for Heroscape Once more, I will say my camera hates me.

Sure! It just drops the starting zone ruins and cuts the upper level ruins down to one per side. Here it is.
