Since it looks like this version of Nordlung is likely to fail largely due to the personality, which I am fine with changing, may I ask what the usual protocol is in a situation like this? Is it to let the voting play out fully, or do creators ever preemptively resubmit?

It's pretty normal to pull and resubmit prior to voting completing.

Yeah, that is why you often find the judges making comments of concerns when they vote yes and reasons to vote no. I can't speak for others but I'm excited by nominations and want them to be the best they can be before testing.

Can't wait to see version 2.

Known Synergies:
Greenscale Warriors (Lizard King Bonding)

Balance/Playability:
Nordlung plays as something of a mix between a lesser Nilfheim (fewer targets and fewer dice for his version of Ice Shards SA) and a lesser Mimring (same long range, but only a single target and an anti-soulborg twist). Neither fish nor fowl, but with the flexibility that comes with a more jack-of-all-trades approach.

Theme:
For crying out loud, it's a dragon with a laser gun. I think the mini hearkens back to classic Heroscape genre mixing, much like Sgt. Drake's katana and grapple arm or Valguard's lizard arm. This mini screamed "HEROSCAPE!" at me as soon as I saw it.


The figure used is the Dragonkin from Starfinder Battles: Planets of Peril. It's surprisingly cheap and I found at least 50+ of them between various sites:

Notes about the feedback the previous version received:

1) I envision Nordlung as basically the white dragon equivalent of a hot-shot teenager, so I went with the Confident personality this time around. (I kicked around the idea of going with Cocky, but I like to avoid new personalities or classes if preexisting ones are suitable.)

2) The power names are unchanged. I like Omnicron Pulse Rifle because it explains the power's theme while implying a story about how he got the weapon, as well the idea that the various forces fighting under Jandar interact with each other and have relations outside of what gets represented on the battlefield. As for Dysole's concern about Princeling Ice Shards, "princeling" can simply refer to a young prince, not just the size of a kingdom.

3) Vegie mentioned wanting a photo of the rebased mini, so here it is:

I'll buy confidant, I'd be hella confidant if I was a 20 foot dragon with a laser gun and battle axe fighting guys with swords and bows an arrows.

He also looks damn smug.

I do worry he might be good everything and really good in some match ups, but that is for playtesting to decide. Sure he's got the range, got the bonding, got the special attack, the multi attack, the big attack, but 165 points is a lot for 4 life 4 def. Also heroscape has never been kind to jacks of all trades, often preferring specialists.

At the end of the day this seems to be a unit my kids would love to draft and play, which is refreshing.

I don't love Confident, but it's not bad. Still not a fan of the power names, but that's a fairly minor quibble.

Is "Confident" an existing personality in the VC universe? I know "Resolute" has a slightly different connotation, but that would match an existing Raelin V2 personality.
