Hi everyone.
A big day for me: my first new map in 7.5 years!

Since it uses the same sets as The Borogoves, I've chosen a name (and font) in line with that earlier map.

If anyone decides to give it a whirl, please let me know what you think. I'm always grateful for feedback. (And for tourney use too, of course. )

I've tweaked one of my favorites, Ice Thistle. Now has lowered glyphs for better access (here's looking at you @dok ), more dynamic height in the center, and clearer/more logical SZs, among other tweaks.

Hard to squeeze a competitive map out of a single BftU and single Tundra, but I think this little baby does the trick.

Turns out that Mome Raths works really well without jungle! Only requires shifting a few shadow tiles.

So here we go: a version of Mome Raths without jungle, for those who lack a TJ set.

I am so glad you're back at it! I made the new map with TJ recently because I had to get a sense of how that amazingly efficient LVL 1 support layer held up IRL (quite well of course). Unfortunately I haven't played it yet, but it looks like a grand return to form. It doesn't seem you've missed a beat in your time of silence. I am eager to see how my armies fare in these new and alluring lands.

Awww, @Ulysses , thank you for the warm words! Coming from a cartographer of your caliber, that's high praise indeed.

I'm glad that Mome Rath's understructure held up, despite looking slightly precarious on paper. It was @mad_wookiee who first showed me, via his own maps and blog posts, how to securely prop up upper levels using a minimum of supporting tiles, and I've had fun exploring the various options ever since.

I need to give your own maps a closer look! Will look forward to doing that soon — hopefully later tonight.

Another old favorite that's just been improved, thanks to @OEAO 's suggestions.
The old version was too easily clogged, and too flat on top. This one has been widened and the hive/big glacier bumped outward, to prevent clogging. There's also dynamic height in the middle now, and much more room for maneuvering.

@superfrog , I almost hate to ask, but.... do I remember you generously offering to make top-down boards for online play?

I'd love to have them for the new versions of both Song of the Walrus and Ice Thistle. And for Mome Raths or Mime Raths too (whichever you think is the better map).

I can pay you in reputation and genuflecting emojis.
Of course, if you're too busy, don't hesitate to say no!
