Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
NAME = CROSSBONES
SECRET IDENTITY = BROCK RUMLOW SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = TERRORIST PERSONALITY = SADISTIC SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 7 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 160 BRUTALITY 4 When attacking an adjacent figure with Crossbones, if the Attack number on the defending figure's card is 4 or less and the defending figure does not have the Super Strength special power, that figure rolls 1 fewer defense die. TRIGGER MAN After attacking a non-adjacent figure with Crossbones' normal attack, if you did not reveal an Order Marker on this card this turn, he may attack one additional time. HUMAN SHIELD 12 Anytime Crossbones rolls defense against an attack and would receive 1 or more wounds, you may immediately choose an adjacent small or medium figure without the Super Strength special power that is not the attacking figure. Roll the 20-sided die, adding 5 to the roll for each of the following that is true: • You control the chosen figure. • The chosen figure is common. If you roll 12 or higher, ignore 1 wound inflicted on Crossbones and instead inflict a wound on the chosen figure. Last edited by MrNobody; February 19th, 2020 at 06:10 PM. Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
Its a brilliant write up. Well done.
Glad to see him finally getting done. Thanks. Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
Don't forget to link the thread in the appropriate places. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
Cool to see him finally taking off! Really dig the mechanics here. Wording toward the end of Human Shield could use a bit of polishing, but it's a real solid take.

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
Seems like Human Shield should trigger on unique figure you control or common figure you control, not unique hero or common figure (basically saying unique squads shouldn't be exempt).

Wording suggestion looks good.

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
Mind if I suggest a change to Human Shield?
HUMAN SHIELD 17 When Crossbones is targeted for a non-adjacent normal attack, you may choose one adjacent small or medium figure without the Super Strength special power and roll the 20-sided die. Add 3 to your roll if the figure is a figure you control, and add 3 your roll if the figure is a Common figure [snip]. If you roll 17 or higher, and Crossbones would receive one or more wounds from the attack, ignore one of those wounds and inflict a wound on the figure chosen for Human Shield. Exactly the same for your figures, but also makes you more able to use it on enemy Common figures, which I think adds a tonne of theme and strategy - he should have an easier time manhandling a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent than he would Captain America. |

I like it too. Feels on theme for Crossbones.
