Wave 9 is here.

The scans are not quite as good as these, but they are still good.

I've scanned all of mine and only have 5 figures left from people I know.

Anyone who is willing to send me some of their figures to scan can PM me. I would also love some wave 9 figures

Re: Index of 3D Scans of Figures

Hi guys,
after many weeks, my Ender 3 is working again (it took a while to get a heater replacement thanks to the virus).

I tried one of Scapedood's figure, Ana Karithon, and here are the results:

I used WK's profile with supports and eSun PLA+.

The quality is amazing, you can even notice the face details, but I still get lots of stringing issues. No idea how to fix it, I've tried tuning everything on the machine side, my bet is it's caused by moisture in the filament. Has anyone ever experienced this thing?

Thanks.

Just playing around...

Some stringiness is expected due to speed however you can use retraction to curb that in. It takes a good bit to hone in on all the causes. If you Google 3d printing stringing you'll get a bazillion hits on what to fix. Try watching some of the videos and hopefully they can help.

Amazon has been out of gray PLA+, so I've been using white as well.

With the white PLA+, I noticed I have to run a little cooler nozzle temperatures. I've been printing at 190C and getting better results. (change all 4 printing temperature boxes to 190C).

But besides the stringing it looks great!

Re: Index of 3D Scans of Figures

I tried again with WK's advice, here are the results of Arkmer:

Before cleaning:

After cleaning:

There's a noticeable improvement in quality. Especially at the hood and cloak. It still has some issues though.

Unfortunately, the staff was a mess and broke during cleaning so I had to glue it in place again.

Looks like the hood turned out better than the rest because of the slower print speed, as Robbdaman said. Maybe I've to tune the retraction settings a bit more.

Thanks.

I use a hot tool (wood burning tool/soldering iron) to hot weld things back together and smooth them over.

You might want to increase the temperature to 200C to see if it looks smoother. Because the layers of the hood take less time to print, the time between layers is less and the layers would not have cooled down as much as the cloak or body. So the rough layers could be because the filament was too cold while printing.

Re: Index of 3D Scans of Figures

Just got around to painting some stingers that I printed a while back...

Anyone who would be able to contribute to the project with some of the missing figures to scan, it would be greatly appreciated! (I would just scan them and send them back)
