Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
Five episodes into Orphan Black. Interesting...not great yet but the main actress is impressing me with her different characters...even her hand gestures are different for each character. The accents are a little annoying right now but I'm sure they get better or less often used. My wife is enjoying it so far so we will keep going.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
Last fall I watch Mindhunters on Netflix and enjoyed it quite a bit. The show is about the FBI's first foray into profiling serial killers before they even had coined the name. It started out slow with a fairly forgettable first episode but by the end of the second episode I was hooked and it didn't let up. The main character starts out by just interviewing mass murders, then he starts applying things he learns to solve crimes. It looks to have several seasons planned out as they follow the main characters as their work catches on and becomes widespread. Interesting stuff that is based on real life.
As a result I decided to try another show on Netflix called Manhunt. It doesn't look like it was a Netflix original and may have been on Discovery channel first, but it fits into the same mold as Mindhunters only this show covers the story of a FBI profiler who created a new approach of analysis based on linguistics in order to catch the Unabomber. The first season appears to be self contained such that all the story points are wrapped up by the end of the 8th episode. If they have more seasons I'm guessing each season will feature the hunt for a different criminal with different characters doing the hunting. So if you are looking for a 'crime drama' type of story that is limited in scope to just 8 episodes, give Manhunt a look. |

Don't know the time line or the comic series/issue where it would have came up, just heard somewhere along the way that info.

Yes, it's canon. At some point Eric was living in California and he and Lorna's mom became lovers. You can figure out the rest. I think they somehow made him forget or not know that she ever got pregnant.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
I wat the first couple episodes of Altered Carbon on Netflix tonight. I like it. Pretty trippy, but cool. Not my normal type of interest, though I did like both Blade Runner movies.

I've almost finished the pilot episode. It's like a weird Blade Runner so far. I'm enjoying it.
