Really sorry about the wait. Life's been crazy right now. But here we go. Something I realized while finishing my notes was that I believe I never gave Kong his defense boost from Star Lord. So it might have been slightly closer. I still think he's great at 400.

Game Summary: FF choses Cap for Primal Rage. Thing kills Cap on Round 2 turn 2. Turn 3 Thing gets height on Kong and hits him for 4 wounds. Kong kills Sue on Round 2 turn 3, using Two-Handed Attack. Round 3 turn one, Kong grabs Sue’s vacant spot, which puts him next to Bane again,and height over Ben, so that’s 2 attacks of 8! Johnny misses a Flame On roll! But Kong whiffs his defense next and Johnny kills him. Starman grabs all OM’s from Kong card. Starman finishes Johnny after a slugfest. Bane kills himself with Venom and Reed finishes Starman. FF had some bad rolls throughout this game, but Bane had HORRIBLE rolls, wounding himself twice. Starman was a great partner for Kong, with Reluctant Hero being a natural pairing.

Primal Rage: Captain America Chosen, as he’ll be on the front lines. Johnny damages Cap on Round 2 turn 2, activating PR. Interestingly this pulls revealed markers off of Cap so he loses that bonus.

Simian Climbing: Used for nearly every movement.

Grab and Carry: Used twice on Bane, opted not to use it a 3rd time to maximize Two Handed Attack.

Two-Handed Attack: Used to kills Sue in a single activation. Used to finish Ben from height and with Bane’s boost.

Summary: Star Lord is chosen for Primal Rage. Kong carries Star Lord to the front lines. Jean grabs Sinestro and throws him to low ground in the middle of the X-Men. Round 2 Kong decides to go all in, he grabs Star Lord and throws himself forward, immediately hitting Iceman for 3 wounds. Iceman hits Kong for 2 wounds. Iceman hits him again, removing his “3” marker! Kong hits Jean twice, dealing a total of 3 wounds. Jean hits Kong for 3 wounds, Iceman kills Kong round 3 turn 1. Jean picks away at Sinestro’s life, and consistently uses Psionic Grip on him. He finally shoots her dead with his normal attack. Sinestro uses Force of Fear to hit Prof X for two wounds, Iceman shoots Tiger for 3 wounds before he even moves. Cyclops kills Sinestro and Iceman kills Tiger on the same turn. The very next turn Cyclops kills Star Lord. X-Men had some amazing luck, tearing through the other team. Sinestro had some decent attacks, but he was the only guy on his team with luck. Kong was jacked with Star Lord’s boost, but only dealt a wound or two at a time, and fell pretty quick.

Primal Rage: Star Lord is chosen. Never activated.

Simian Climbing: Used nearly every movement.

Grab and Carry: Used twice to bring Star Lord forward.

Two-Handed Attack: Used lots. Dealt a wound or two at a time to Iceman and Jean. Kong never could roll many skulls this game.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
I think he’s about spot-on. Sure he lost a bit, but game one he was quite devastating and game 2 he had no luck at all, and still soaked a ton of attacks and nearly killed both Iceman and Jean. He’s extremely fun. I love the carry ability, and love that you can grab opponent’s figures, even though I never utilized it myself.


GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT:
He’s fun, and I totally see myself using him a lot in any sort of army. He’s better with Star Lord than Cap, since Rage ruins revealed OM’s, neutralizing Cap’s bonus. Bane was too restrictive with having to be adjacent. Reluctant Hero is an amazing ability to pair with him, as I wasn’t too nervous to lose out on turns when Kong is enraged.

He's a bit swingy with low defense for a big guy, but he's terrifying. His offensive potential is great, and he's a natural pair with Star Lord, so he's boosted even more. I think 400 is fine. At that range though I wouldn't blink at a 10-20 point drop if we really wanted.
