Basic Custom Units, No Powers

I'm not even sure what terms I'd use to search for something like this. Has someone figured out how much you would price generic units with only stats and no powers? For example:

Generic Unique Hero
Medium 5
Life - 5
Move - 5
Range - 1
Attack - 3
Defense - 4
Points = 25

Generic 3-figure Squad
Medium 4
Move - 6
Range - 7
Attack - 3
Defense - 3
Points - 40

On a theoretical level, I'm interested in what common stat-lines are worth without any powers skewing things.

On a game-playing level, I was interested in setting up a series of scenarios in which players would start at the bottom and pick up powers and abilities through treasure glyphs and what-not-- sort of like characters developing through experience points in D&D.

Any direction you could give me would be appreciated.

Stingers are pretty close to a generic squad. I don't think Stinger Drain is a big part of what makes Stingers good, so I would judge a squad of 3 with 5M/5R/3A/3D to be worth 60 or so.

That's probably true with Stingers-- I still might make them 55 points (then again, they may be priced a little low already, so 60 might be spot on without the special powers). I think the Iron Golem is also pretty close to worth its points regardless of its special powers-- maybe 90 or 95 without them.
