So I was getting the pictures onto my computer to post the report, and then I realized there was another figure in NS's army that I forgot to mention. In addition to Stingers, Vampire, etc., NS had a Red Wyrmling. I apologize for the error on my part and hope this doesn't throw too big a wrench into the works. I'll post the report today.

I believe the votes are currently tied at 4-4. That's counting SoO's "I'm w/stupid" smiley. Alright then, here we go.

The map- Road Rampage


The armies-

NS- Cyprien, Sonya, Marro Stingers x3, Raelin 1.0, Isamu, Red Wyrmling.


SoA- Raelin 1.0, Death Chasers of Thesk x3, Ogre Pulverizer x2, Nerak.

Spoiler Alert!

Round 1
The Orcs charge before we can roll for initiative.

initiative- SoA=1 , NS=11

NS moves the Stingers into position to take control of the bridge.


The orcs bond with Nerak, and set up a position in front of the bridge.


The vampire lord flies out to reinforce the Marro.


Raelin likewise bulks up the Orcs.


The Stingers grab height on the bridge, and scorch an Orc. Strange, I missed grabbing a picture of it.

Anyway, the Orcs retaliate by bonding with an Ogre, and by charging into the line of Stingers, striking down two. "GRAAUGH!!!"


The board at the end of Round 1-


Round 2
initiative- SoA= 4, NS=8

Cyprien flies to the bridge, and kills an Orc with a touch. His normal attack turns up zilch, though.


The Orcs send the marked Pulverizer to engage Cyprien, and between the Orcs and Ogre, the vampire takes 3 wounds.


The Stingers rush to aid their undead commander.


Raelin puts herself into a precarious position, particularly with Cyprien so close, in an attempt to boost most of the advancing army.


Cyprien elects to hold his ground (bad mistake), instead of trying to kill Raelin. He chills he Ogre with 3 wounds. Raelins aura boosts the Ogre enough that the Vampire can't land a wound with his attack.


The Orcs, advancing from the higher ground, snag the glyph of Gerda on NS's side of the bridge, and toss another 2 wounds onto Cyprien.



The board at the end of Round 2-

By the way, don't mind the plate in the background. My family is tolerant enough to allow dinner and 'Scape to continue at the same time.

Round 3
initiative- SoA= 13, NS= 18

The vampire, in his rage of being wounded, slaughters the Ogre, healing himself.


The Orcs send Nerak rushing down the bridge, and they put a wound on Cyprien, who is now at 5 wounds.


The Stingers successfully drain, and tear through the Death Chaser on Gerda, ironically.


Raelin joins the fight on the bridge, and pierces Cyprien through the heart. Still in the starting zone, Sonya cries out and clasps her chest in anguish.



The wee Dragon flits towards the bridge.


The Orcs send the remaining Pulverizer to aid the orcs on the riverbank, and then mercilessly kill 3 Stingers.


The battle at the conclusion of the 3rd Round-


Round 4
initiative- SoA=7, NS= 18

The Wyrmling breaths fire at an Orc, but no more results than singed fur.


The Orcs bond with the Ogre, and proceed to turn the Wyrmling into Worm-food.


Stingers charge, drain successfully, and... whiff.


The Orcs have no such problem, clobbering a Marro.


The Stingers get revenge by electrocuting an Orc. For those of you that do not know, BBQ'd Orc does not smell all that appetizing.


Raelin takes the backseat of the fight, bringing the Orcs and Ogre under her aura.


The game at the end of Round 4-


Round 5
initiative- SoA=16, NS= 18 At this point, I'm really starting to think NS is using a loaded D20. He got 18 on initiative three times in a row! I made him switch D20's.

The Stingers put a wound on the Pulverizer. "Yawn".


The Ogre crushes 2 Marro, while an Orc goes for the glyph on their side of the bridge. Another Orc engages the last Stinger, but 4 attack dice turn up nothing.



The final Stinger whiffs. (I honestly didn't consider this worth taking a picture of).

The Death Chasers move up Nerak, kill the last Stinger, and grab the Glyph of... Lodin. What a waste.


Isamu murders an Orc. NS's Raelin looks on from the starting zone.


The Orcs move in for the kills, and the Ogre wounds Raelin twice.

Round 6
initiative- SoA=1, NS=11... this is getting ridiculous.

Isamu intercepts an Orc.


The Ogre is living it up today, as both Sonya and Raelin die by the club.


Isamu rushes the Ogre, and his sword glances off the reeking hide.


The one time he needs the D20, NS can't pull off a measly 9.

My thoughts on this battle- That was wholesale slaughter. I had an OP with 1 wound, a squad of DCoT, and both Raelin and Nerak unhurt. NS made 2 fatal errors in this game. The first was keeping Cyprien on the bridge, where 5 attacks of 4 killed him (and the kyrie, which I consider the most epic kill of the game). The bigger one was that he didn't put a single OM on Raelin. She sat in the starting zone and did absolutely nothing. Maybe with an aura, the Marro could have survived a few more attacks. Maybe not. My reasoning behind Raelin's inactivity was I was basically playing offense the entire game, forcing him to put OM's where they could get the maximum attack to beat off my assault. Seriously, 5 attacks of 4, when the Orcs bonded with an Ogre, is tough to hold off. It was quite courageous on his part.

I really enjoyed that Battle Report and you know what they say "a picture is worth a thousand words) and you had lots of great pics. I really enjoy seeing the pics because then I get a chance to Monday morning quarterback the whole battle.
