also @Yodaking ...I think you said you were looking as well, did you find any alternatives? Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: M.R.D. Trooper (Design Phase)
I didn't go through my bag of generic guys with guns. I can do that today. I think the one above was one I had in mind (green armor, big gun) but I can see what other options there are too.

I think that's the HDC Trooper (Human Defense Corps).

Re: M.R.D. Trooper (Design Phase)
I took a look at the figures I have already and compared them to the picture you have for the comic art. I do think the HDC Trooper is a pretty good fit, that is the first one I thought of when you started the thread.
A few other options for figures with heavy armor would be Johnny Alpha and Gangbuster, You just might want to paint or mod either one if you want a specific uniform color and/or rifle instead of pistol. Another option wound be the N.O.W.H.E.R.E. Soldier but it seems more likely to get it's own card one day and again the color scheme seems a bit off. Then one outside of the box idea would be to raid the Gear of War set for some 'high tech' looking soldiers. This one is Dominic Santiago. He looks the part minus a proper helment, but that line is a little taller than the comic book lines. They would be more expensive too. As for availability, none of them seemed to have more than a handful in stock at T&T when I looked up their pictures to link. |

Re: M.R.D. Trooper (Design Phase)
I got dibs on Johnny Alpha. He is one of the few 2000AD figures.
That is an awesome pic. The mini does not look that good. A cloud can change its semblance, yet retain its will With the intimacy of destruction, One knows what it is to be alive The empty sky holds no reflection, for sorrow - Eslo Rudkey |

Re: M.R.D. Trooper (Design Phase)
My suggestion would be SHIELD Commando (Avengers Movie #10). A bit pricey at $3 a pop but looks the part very well.

Re: M.R.D. Trooper (Design Phase)
$3 is better than the $6 figures I originally had.

Re: M.R.D. Trooper (Design Phase)
That figure does look pretty sweet, I don't know how I missed that one when it came out. Does the new Nick Fury of SHIELD set have any SHIELD guys that could work?

Re: M.R.D. Trooper (Design Phase)
Nah, most of the new SHIELD guys are obviously SHIELD (blue suits, white straps, logos). Limits our options quite a bit unfortunately.

Re: M.R.D. Trooper (Design Phase)
I like that suggestion, johnny, because it doesn't close the door on any other designs (seeing as how we already have SHIELD stuff). I'd hate to see Gangbuster no longer be an option because his sculpt has already been used!
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

That HDC Trooper is $1.50, just for reference.
