Re: The Book of Darklings - Design
LIVE FOR DARKNESS
After taking a turn with a hero you control named The Darkness, you may move the Darklings. When a Darkling is occupying a land space, that space is considered a shadow space. If you do not control a figure named The Darkness, remove all Darklings from the game. So I tweaked Live for Darkness to make the space the Darkling is occupying a shadow tile rather then make the Darklings count as a shadow tile. But wouldn't this mean that the Darklings always gain the bonus shield from the shadow tile? Not that I see them having 3 defense being a huge deal. Although if anyone has a better way to word that power I'm open to suggestions. |

Re: The Book of Darklings - Design
Yeah, it would mean that. Good call. Could always tweak their defense down to 1 if you feel that's too strong.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Darklings - Design
They would definitely count as having +1 defense at all time, Gorr had the same problem before release. (since he pretty much always sits on Shadow)

Re: The Book of Darklings - Design
Which is why his defense ultimately dropped by one. 2 and 3 defense is pretty low, though, but can always tweak these guys based on results.

Re: The Book of Darklings - Design
Looking good, I think a drop to 1 defense could work and well as keeping it at 2. Playtesting will clear that up.

Re: The Book of Darklings - Design
Looks good!
Darklings (At the beginning at least), are basically 3rd wall breaking goofballs. They reuse the South Park "You killed Kenny!" joke too often (Since they're essentially just limited constructs), regularly find Wonder Woman and Spider-Man costumes to wear while fighting, etc... So I think Jovial was leftover from my original draft. Mischievous is perfect though. |

Re: The Book of Darklings - Design
Definitely survivability is the thing to see about in testing. Folks should probably try combining them with other defensive figures and then focusing on turns with The Darkness as they all work together to protect him.
Pre-yea for initial. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
