Axegrinders vs. Zelrig

This may seem like a no-brainer.

The axegrinders fearless advantage gives them +1 def. against large or huge figures. It mentions nothing of specials or range.

So would they get the +1 def. against Zelrig's Majestic fires?

Axegrinder def. 3 + 1 (fearless advantage) - 2 (majestic fires) = 2.

Is this correct?

73 tournaments. 175 - 145 - 1 overall record. 6 tournament wins.

Re: Axegrinders vs. Zelrig

It just says roll extra dice when attacking or defending, so it gives them defense from all attacks, including specials. It doesn't work against leaving engagement attacks, but that would be cool because then they have cowards reward against large and huge.

Yup, you are correct. (Thorgrim beat me to it)

I wouldn't say Z has few counters. I would say he has many. These guys don't fair well no matter how you look at it. 2 defense isn't that amazing.

But 2x2 attack is for a common squad. 2 defense could survive though. Maybe not a good counter, I guess any hero is your best bet for a counter.

Agreed. Zelrig has plenty of counters. Anything with the word unique on the card vs common. If you go up against Zelrig with a common anything, you will most likely get the short end of the deal no matter what way you look at it.

Dwarves. This makes sense for them to hold up against zelrig considering there heat resistance from their thick skin and working in the mines.

Actually, considering his ability, they would do pretty bad. Maybe better than most common squads, but still bad.
