Honest question here. Why do people on forums like Pirates so much? It seems people always talk about pirates and ninjas. WTF? Maybe I'm just not in the loop but I could think of a lot of different units that I would want fighting for me instead of Pirates. Anyone?

It is just one of those big overdone internet inside joke things. The gist is that there is some kind of battle between pirates and ninjas for who are the coolest. It has been going on for years.

Well, it *would* be true, except Ninja butt is soo finely conditioned from all that flipping out and killing people that the Pirates just hit the air where that butt *would* have been.
