Re: Discussion: Why Heroscape is an Amazing and Successful G

At first, it was another fun game.

Then it was a way to think up cool stuff.

Eventually it became an avenue to bring a whole lot of cool, ridiculous, and just outright strange concepts together.

So why Scape was successful game-wise is likely different for any of its fans... And how we choose to display our fandom is never the same. It just means that like the denizens of Valhalla, the Valkyrie has brought a bunch of different people together on common grounds, and perhaps thats the true reason it is a success.

My customs.

It hits on all cylinders- theme, game play, replayability, customization and there is nothing cooler looking than a huge map littered with units duking it out.

If I had a dollar for all the times people would come up and check out our games at a game store...

My favorite was the time the guy at the next table had all his Heroclix minis to demo the game, and nobody paid any attention. We would have a lot of people come up and ask what game it was at the very least.

That's the power of the terrain. Sure the WH40K stuff at the other end of the room looked way cool, but our stuff was straight from the box.
