I agree with this completely. "The Defenders" feels so generic to me. I'm only excited about the name at all because I have an association with it.

Heroes for Hire might be seen as having negative connotations. Also, I imagine the first team-up is in response to a threat ($10 on Kingpin) rather than setting up business, so "Defenders" might be more apt in that context.

I doubt they have plans for the classic Defenders, since Surfer's with Fox and Namor is complicated. (Marvel Studios' stance on Namor is that they could use him, but they're not apt to since they'd have to pay and go through some legal hoops)

Assuming these Netflix series go well, I could definitely see a second wave of shows, and maybe a proper Heroes for Hire series therein, since they'd have all the players introduced. I think my fantasy picks for a second round would be Heroes for Hire, Moon Knight, Daredevil Season 2 and She-Hulk or Punisher. But that's getting ahead of myself, I suppose. Better see how the ones in production turn out first.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're saving Heroes for Hire for a follow-up Luke Cage/Iron Fist team-up project.

I wouldn't take that bet against you lol. Classic Defenders would never happen on Netlflix, too much big screen potential with all those characters. She-Hulk and Punisher I would watch, but after just finishing the initial West Coast Avengers run, I have to say as cool as Moon Knight looks I'm not a huge fan. My picks would have to include Black Knight and Hercules.

Also I remember you saying you were a Thunderbolts fan. Now that would be a good show to make.

Thunderbolts would be a fantastic series or movie, but at least a few of the main characters need to be introduced somewhere first. The story is too much to take in when you are first intro-ing the characters as heroes and then later evil versions of themselves. The average viewer would get lost and lose interest.

True and with their varied backgrounds it'll never happen. The only one who is big screen worthy is Baron Zemo. After that maybe Beetle in a sinister six movie, of course that would then mean two different movie studios which presents another set of problems. Moonstone, Goliath, Fixer, and Screaming Mimi are mainly Avengers enemies but let's face it C listers at best. It's a shame though because people love their dark heroes.

I could totally see them all introduced as Masters of Evil in an Avengers movie.
