It sounds like strength of schedule was used for placements. That'd be my guess since it was an mtg program.

I'd suspect that's the case; I had two losses (like many others), but the losses were my two last games and against 1st and 2nd place, respectively.

So I'm curious:

With General Wars, how exactly does one treat cross-faction synergies, including Atlaga/Kyrie, Master Woo/Shaolin Monks, Estivara/Fyorlag Spiders, and Valguard/Tarn Viking Warriors?

They will be lost to the format. That's the interesting thing - finding synergies under the same General.
