I've had that problem before - the card not valid stuff. I unlinked my card and relinked it, and it eventually fixed itself after a day or two if I remember right.

No cake whatsoever actually. Just an oversized burrito at a local Mexican restaurant that is covered in a jalapeno cream cheese sauce. I was stuffed afterwards.
