Re: Age of Annihilation - Backer Trend and Discussion
HQ hit its funding goal of $1 million in less than 24 hours.
Edit: https://hasbropulse.com/collections/...ay-collectible So Hasbro just dropped a $300 role-play gauntlet from one of the Magic: The Gathering characters. It's not part of the game, just a decoration that you can wear. It has lights, sounds, and makes mist if you fill it up with water. I don't think that's anything anyone wanted, but they're going ahead into production with it. For $300. Its not a Haslab, its just a regular pre-order item. But Heroscape can't get a fair chance. Hasbro is so backwards. Double Edit: https://hasbropulse.com/collections/...ab-deathsaurus They just launched a new Haslab for some kind of Transformer toy for $180. It already has over 2,500 backers, they need 11,000 to fund. I'm going to go cry now. Last edited by Hogg; October 27th, 2022 at 07:51 PM. |

Yeah I know how much Heroquest raised. Just wondering *how*.

Re: Age of Annihilation - Backer Trend and Discussion
There had been a previous attempt to reprint HQ that ended in massive lawsuits shortly before the Hasbro version was announced. So people were already somewhat aware of the possibility or HQ's return.
Hasbro/AH started a HQ twitter a few months before the main announcement. They put up a webpage with a countdown timer 10 days before. Here's their announcement, at 1:25: Here's the thread from the HQ forum, launch was 9/22/20: http://forum.yeoldeinn.com/viewtopic.php?f=143&t=5381 The goal was in dollars, not backers, and the $99 level was a lot more accessible than $249. Looking at that thread, it hit 24% of its goal in the first hour. There are also people saying its too expensive. Hasbro was showing all the pieces in greyscale for the first few weeks. They eventually showed different colored minis and furniture pieces that matched the original set, but it wasn't clear if that was the plan all along, or if they changed it due to request. They have showed Haslabs in greyscale at the beginning before, like the new Transformers one, which just passed HeroScape's backer count, in about two hours. |

So some entity either majorly jumped the gun on starting the Heroscape Haslab or was late in spreading the word in an effective way prior to launch. |

Re: Age of Annihilation - Backer Trend and Discussion
Heroquest had been heavily hyped by previous tries to restart the game, some even scams like the 25th anniversary.
Then the product wasn’t far of the original one and the price was close to similar products (descent, Arcadia Quest, Super Dungeon Explore…). Heroscape was a “kid’s” game that found a huge fan base, new player friendly in price and readiness to play (painted minis and terrain). This campaign switched was for old dudes with money that already knew the game (no gameplay shown). Heroquest was just the opposite of this launch. |

Passed 3,000! But man, that 2,500 to 3,000 was a fight.

at this rate, we're not even getting to 4000 backers by the time that we have 4 days left in the campaign
