One of the problems with HeroScape is that in order to host an event, you need a large amount of space to have that event in. My home isn't big enough and I'm not a fan of paying large amounts (or even small amounts) of money to reserve a room. Local Game Stores don't mind people coming in and playing, but typically don't have the day-long availability necessary for a HeroScape event. Also the local stores want to sell product and HeroScape isn't an option for that any longer.

I recently reserved a room at the Mt. Greenwood branch of the Chicago Public Library to use for a day long gaming session. Nine players, myself and two friends, sons, nephews and a plus one, spent a happy day playing a Rolling Rumble style event. No brackets, you started a new game as soon as you and another pair were finished. We each got seven or eight games in. Not bad, when you consider that we started at 10 am and were out by 4 pm.

I said Rolling Rumble style event, because we differed from traditional events/tournaments because of the armies we played. Each player played armies from a pre-built pool of 350 point ClassicScape armies. You used a different army each game. You may win one game using Marcus, Me-Burq-Sa and Legionnaires, and then have to defeat them in your very next game. We had a total of seven maps, so you kept moving and rarely, if ever, played the same map twice.

I'm wondering what sort of interest there would be in opening this up to the HeroScape public. The boys are back to their colleges in the next week, so we wouldn't consider doing this again until the summer.

I have never played pre-built armies nor have I played Armies that small... It would be something different, but I also like to build my own armies (usually around the 500 to 600 pt range).
