Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 850. - Give a brief overview..If it wasn't for a bit of luck early on, the Warriors 3 would've lost even harder than they did. The long range of the Skrull Warriors along with the big dice rolls was just overwhelming.
Map: Grundy's Grave.
Units: Warriors 3 vs Super Skrull (Kl'Rt) + 5x Skrull Warriors.
Spoiler Alert!
Round 1 (Skrulls win init)
Super Skrull (SS) takes the single ledge near spawn so his minions can see him from anywhere. Warriors spend some time moving in as a team. Two Skrull Warriors attack Volstagg from height, landing 3 wounds. Volstagg heals twice (full life and 8 move) and the W3 move in deep. Skrull Warriors put 3 wounds on Fandral and 1 on Volstagg. Fandral whiffs a Skrull Warrior with 5 attacks, and Volstagg gets 5 skulls on SS but gets bounced by Rock Wall for 1 wound.
R2 (Skrulls win init)
Skrull Warriors put 2 wounds on Fandral (for 5 total). Volstagg heals to full life and runs in solo on SS and attacks for 4 wounds. The Skrull Warriors whiff. Fandral attacks a Skrull Warrior but whiffs all 5 attacks again, but Volstagg lands 3 wounds to the SS, killing him. Then the Skrull Warriors kill off Fandral in retaliation. Hogun moves up and kills the 2 high ground Skrull Warriors with 1 blow.
R3 (Warriors 3 win init)
By this point, all the Skrull Warriors (SW) have spread out at least 1 space away from each other so Hogun can't get 2 in one blow.
Volstagg kills a SW, then a SW whiffs on Volstagg. Hogun whiffs a SW, then a SW puts 3 wounds on Volstagg. Hogun kills an SW, then SW put one on Volstagg (4 total).
R4 (Warriors 3 win init)
Volstagg breaks engagement but SW whiffs the strike, and Volstagg whiffs his attack on a SW who was lower than him. Then another SW puts 2 wounds on Volstagg, for a total of 6. Using Warriors 3, Hogun kills one while Volstagg whiffs. The SW, perhaps out of mercy, decide to stand and fight the W3 instead of just running around peppering them with shots. With 6 move and 6 range, it probably would've been a dominating strategy.
Nevertheless, next turn a SW puts 2 on Hogun, and one whiffs Volstagg. Then Hogun kills 1 and Volstagg whiffs. A SW puts 2 wounds on Hogun but another whiffs Volstagg.
R5 (W3 win init)
Hogun kills one, and Volstagg whiffs. A SW puts 4 wounds on Hogun, killing him. The other puts 1 wound on Volstagg, killing him as well. Who won and how many wounds did they have?3x Skrull Warriors
Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 850-870. - Give a brief overview. This was a pretty terrible match-up for the Warriors 3. Invisible Woman (IW) and Mr Fantastic (MrF) both have good disengagement abilities, and attacking the Thing is dangerous with IW still alive because of his Rock Bounce ability. The only option is to use bonding to get in on them, and then run in and attack IW without bonding (probably with the +4 movement on Volstagg). If they protect their IW well then you could be in for an uphill battle.
I got lucky with my opponent leaving a shot open on IW and I one-shot her, if that hadn't happened the Thing would've gotten angry and they would've decimated me even worse. Melee fighters always have to concede the height advantage to ranged fighters, because the ranged ones can afford to sit back and ping shots on them, forcing the melee guys to come fight on THEIR terms. This is one of the major features that the Fan4 took advantage of. Map: Grundy's Grave.
Units: Warriors 3 vs Mister Fantastic (MrF), Invisible Woman (IW), Iceman, and the Thing.
Spoiler Alert!
Round 1 (Warriors win initiative)
Warriors 3 spend a lot of time with positioning the first couple turns. Iceman pecks away with his range, landing 3 wounds on Volstagg and then 2 on Hogun next turn. Mr F ties up Hogun. When the Warriors 3 move in, the Thing puts 3 wounds on Fandral and Iceman puts 1 on Fandral, while MrF stretches away.
R2 (Fan4 win init)
Vostagg heals, while Iceman and MrF whiff on Hogun and Fandral. Warriors 3 surround the Thing. Thing, Iceman and Mr F whiff Fundral, while IW puts 1 wound on him (1 life left). Fundral attacks the Thing, but he gets 4 shields, killing Fundral. Hogun attacks Thing, getting 4 shields again and wounding Hogun (3 life left). Volstagg gets 1 wound on the Thing. Iceman puts 2 wounds on Hogun, removing the X OM. MrF whiffs on Hogun. Luckily, when MrF moved in to attack Hogun he left a route for Volstagg to get to IW. He puts 5 wounds on her, instantly killing her.
R3 (Warriors 3 win init)
Volstagg puts 3 wounds on Iceman while Hogun puts 2 on Thing. Then the Thing puts 6 wounds on Hogun, killing him off in a big way. Mr F whiffs on Volstagg, the last of the Warriors 3. Volstagg puts 4 wounds on Iceman, killing him. The Thing puts 3 wounds on Volstagg while Mr F gets 2 on him, for a total of 6 wounds. Volstagg uses his last 2 food markers to heal 4, and attacks the Thing for 3 wounds, killing him. Mr F whiffs on Volstagg, but has him trapped on the low ground.
R4 (Warriors 3 win init)
Volstagg gets 1 wound on Mr F, then Mr F whiffs. Volstagg gets 3 more on Mr F. Mr F puts 2 wounds on Volstagg (4 wounds total now, this is where his Hunger Pains really start to hurt). Volstagg whiffs, then MrF puts 1 more on Volstagg (5 total, only rolling 3 attack dice now).
R5 (Fan4 win init)
Mr F whiffs, then Vol whiffs. MrF lands 1 wound on Volstagg (6 total). Then Volstagg whiffs MrF, and MrF lands one more wound to finish the match. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mister Fantastic with 4 wounds.
I'm having a hard time saying what their point value should be. I ran a casual test against 3x Hawkmen and Hawkman and Hawkgirl (750pts) and the Warriors 3 smashed them (though enraged Hawkman did take 2 of the 3 out). They take very intelligent play to pull off, but on the same hand an intelligent opponent can nullify a lot of their advantages (like splitting up the Skrulls to Hogun doesn't get his AoE damage). Somewhere in the mid-800s definitely feels more comfortable than the mid-900s.
You did a great job. Man, those Warriors 3 gave you a lot of value!

Test 1
Map: Ravaged Road
Units: Warriors 3 vs Thor, Loki, Jubilee
Fun and intriguing. The Warriors 3 gained the initial advantage by utilizing their movement abilities. A well timed Meat and Mead maneuver by Volstagg suckered the God of Mischief into a precarious tete-a-tete. The Voluminous Asgardian made a perfect roll as Loki rolled poorly, which resulted in Loki's quick demise.
Jubilee held her own against the warriors by acquiring some high ground. Hogun and Fandral quickly closed in.
Volstagg was isolated after taking out Loki as Thor avenged his adopted brother by all but destroying Volstagg; Volstagg escaped but was severely weakened and starving.
From her protected position Jubilee was able to destroy Volstagg (who was out of Meat and Mead) before Fandral was able to bring her down to size . . . Fandral and Hogun rolled quite poorly throughout this game.
Hogun and Thor went toe to toe for a few rounds but Thor proved too much. Fandral was the last standing but his sword play was no match for the Mighty Thor.
Thor wins with 6 wounds.
Squad Test
Map: Ravaged Road
Units: Warriors 3 vs Hydra Agents (x3), Hand Ninjas (x2), Skrull Warriors (x4)
The point value wasn't as equal as it could've been but the end result was quite equal.
The Warriors 3 struggled against the continuous barrage of ranged attacks. However, the movement abilities of the Warriors 3 allowed for them to close in and eliminate pieces quickly;
Fandral proved quite effective against squad units. This battle took a long time and after 15 rounds Volstagg with 5 wounds proved victorious . . . barely . . .
. . . the rolls really didn't go well for them overall and the Skrulls were quite formidable. If I had added one more squad I don't think W3 would've won.

Army Test (Melee)
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Pass. - What should be the unit's point value? They seem to be rated well in relation to each other. They really shined during this full Army test. - Give a brief overview.
Map: Ravaged Road.
Units: Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, Thor, Green Arrow (CH), Bodyguard vs Hercules, Rhino, Doomsday, Hulk, Venom
Spoiler Alert!
The battle started off quite even. It was an all out melee but the rolls, combined with the Warriors 3 ability to all attack during a turn proved too much as Thor was able to take down Doomsday and the Warriors 3 were able to triple team Hulk. Hercules and Rhino were unable to stop the Warriors 3 onslaught. Venom was able to do some damage against the Warriors 3 but his Spider Sense failed him. Thor and Doomsday fought heavily throughout the entire game. But it was the Warriors 3 that defeated Hercules, Rhino, and Hulk. Venom escaped the melee but was tracked down in the end by Thor one turn before Doomsday returned to the battlefield. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Thor had 5 wounds. Green Arrow had 0 wounds. Fandral 2 Wounds, Volstagg 1 wound after one use of Meat and Mead.
Army Test (Ranged)
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Pass. - What should be the unit's point value? Tough to say. In the earlier bout with Thor they were obliterated by Thor almost single-handedly. However, when part of a larger team the Warriors 3 make it really difficult for their opponent. They do struggle a bit against ranged opposition but have the ability to swarm and close in fast. They are tough to value individually as their value is heavily dependent upon working as a team . . . When fighting together they may be worth an additional 5-10 points each . . . maybe so they weigh in at an even 950 points all together. - Give a brief overview.
Map: Ravaged Road
Units: Fandral, Volstagg, Hogun, Thor, Green Arrow (CH), Bodyguard vs Kree Scout (x3), Ronan, Dr.Strange, Silver Surfer, Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell).
Spoiler Alert!
I wanted to try the Kree figures and use their movement abilities along with their ranged abilities in an attempt to avoid having to go toe to toe w/ the Asgardians. Additionally, these guys could hold their own in melee combat.
Each side began by acquiring high ground positions. The range abilities of the Kree-based force forced the hand of the Asgardians, forcing the Asgardians to push through the cross-fire and engage. From there the Warriors 3 and Thor cleaned house. They each ended the game heavily wounded but none were destroyed. Another dominant performance from the Asgardians. Granted, the rolls in this battle heavily favored the Asgardians.
Nevertheless, the Warriors 3 are a great team and worked really well together. Together they were able to defeat the Kree Scouts, Ronan, Dr. Strange, and Silver Surfer while Thor took care of Captain Marvel; W3 were really impressive. Who won and how many wounds did they have? Asgardians win - Thor with 5 wounds, Fandral with 4 wounds, Volstagg with 5 wounds, Hogun with 4 wounds.
After reading all the reports, and seeing that Clembo got the low end of about 850, I got the middle ground of about 920, and Hellfire got the high end of about 950, I believe these guys' points are fine as they are.
