Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Catching up.
Prince Shamayim by @Tai-Pan Kinda neat. I wouldn't have picked "wind elemental user" for the min, but it's an interesting idea. Stats are all fine. It does have the "medium fantasy hero" problem, though. If you're unaware, VC has become so bloated with medium fantasy figures that there's little interest in adding more right now. Those have an unusually high bar for entry, and I don't really think this reaches that. Also, the requirement of buying a full set of minis for one submission is problematic, as noted. Solaris-X by @KnightOfLight The solar-charging concept is new and unique, but feels overly so to me in that it doesn't feel like a Soulborg. But pushing things beyond their current boxes is sometimes the right thing to do, and I can see the concept of different technologies used for different Soulborgs. I don't really think it does all that much for gameplay, though, from a theoryscape perspective. It prevents Solaris-X from being a great first-round unit, but it's not particularly good at that even fully charged. It prevents Solaris from being a good endgame unit, but there are already other super-good options for that at the same price point. The most interesting result is not being able to spam Range 7 Attack 4 Double Attacks, but that level of combat isn't unwieldy, and a similar limitation could be made without using special markers. |

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Instead of using markers, It could be based on the order marker number plus one?

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Testing some reactions here to Jedidiah using the more recent Jonah Hex figure.
There might be an understandable reaction to another form of Outlaw synergy, but Ace In The Hole (also considering Ace Up The Sleeve) is a perfect compliment. The Tombstone Gunslingers only really care about an OM existing on an UH Outlaw, which Mulroney does built-in. Your first two/three markers could be on TGs, triggering Outlaw Band, while your X could be on Mulroney himself, using the free turn to position for High Noon. AitH works either with a smaller army of just Outlaws (Cal, Josie, and Burns are 200) and works perfectly with a larger force of the common TGs. |

Black Bullet made me think of Bolt of Witherwood. Pretty strong! But once per game it should be fine?

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Hard to judge the value of Jedidiah, given the immense power of Ace in the Hole, which works regardless of Jedidiah's positioning. He'll sit in the back of the starting zone until the other Outlaws are wiped out, which thematically is fitting for an outlaw leader. "Ace in the Hole" isn't a fitting name for how it's played, though. It will be used every round as long as possible.
Black Bullet is so nuts it's a no-go. Comparisons can be made to Bolt of Witherwood, but that only shows how much more powerful Black Bullet is. +6 dice are far, far more reliable for dealing damage than Bolt is. This one shot all but guarantees serious damage to any hero. I think the stats should be adjusted a bit too. Going outside of the "gunslinger" stats is ok, but should be done sparingly. An additional attack is probably appropriate, but don't also decrease the range. I don't think the standard gunslinger range of 7 would affect the design significantly. |

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
I think BB probably has a lower chance to kill than Witherwood does on most heroes. Even at 9 dice he’s going to roll on average 4-5 skulls, and most targets you’d want to use BB on have 4-6 life plus defense.

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
You could consider and test a +2/3 autoskulls once per game power rather than a +6 dice once per game power.

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
That’s a possibility, but I think 6 dice is just more fun. If people call for that, I can test.

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
The goal was definitely “better and more fun than Witherwood” hah.
