Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Thor)
He's good. At 430 points, he's less someone you're building around and more a one-man army that you build around. His stats are super solid so you can add pretty much anything to him (turn efficiency, stat boosters, D20 boosters, healing, Order Marker manipulators) and he'll be appreciative.
Solid A figure in my view. Only thing that keeps him from A+ is his auto wounding is limited and hard to get and he comes with a big price tag, so he's not a steal or anything. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Thor)
This is pretty much exactly what happened when I first started playing C3G, seeing those big numbers really did something to me Haven't played him in awhile but I'm pretty much onboard with what Bats said. He's so buff that pretty much any support is cool on him. I know we have Champion support incoming, I'm curious if any of those are particularly good with him. A/4, rolling 8 die is really food for the soul. |

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Thor)
He's cool, but I still like Superman 1 better. Eight dice isn't as good as Man of Steel, and their raw attack power is comparable.
God of Thunder Strike isn't reliable, so I think the only thing Thor has over Supes is the multi-attack. Very cool, but in general Superman's durability makes up for it. |

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Thor)
He has one more attack and one more life than Superman (I), doesn't have anything like Heroic Duty to exploit for easy swipes, has a ranged special attack that does crowd control, and his eight defense aren't vulnerable to special attacks.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Thor)
I enjoy using the Thor card quite a bit, but he's purely a beat stick. I only give the d20 auto-wounds a shot if I have a d20 booster/manipulator on the team. Don't play a lot of squads so the whirlwind aspect doesn't come into play a ton for me, but if he's engaged with a low point figure I do like hitting that figure while throwing the hammer at someone else. Mostly I just roll 8+ attack dice and try to smash other units. 4 stars.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Thor)
God of Thunder Strike is just so swingy that if I can get at least three enemy Unique Heroes lined up for it early in the game, I'll usually give it a shot. But, yeah, not something to depend on, and he can typically earn his way without it.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Flash *Barry Allen*
This guy is fun. Streaky, though, since he's all about ow well you hit Speed Dodge. Not considering unreleased synergies, his strongest pairings are probably Invisible Woman in a generalist build (they fit together in Star-Lord, Robot, and Avengers builds well).
He's not world-shaking or one I'd build around at this point. But there are few armies where he doesn't offer value. Gonna go with straight up B+/4 C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Flash *Barry Allen*
One of my top 5 favorite C3G designs. He’s crazy fast, Fist Fusillade can be devastating, and Speed Dodge keeps him alive unless you whiff. He’s effective in just about any build as a stand-alone unit.
