It just seems like most people have individual threads for their customs, and this is for if you wanted to "tune one up" before you try to submit it to SoV. If I'm understanding right.

There is no set rule for number of tests, that really depends on the unit. Getting early feedback is of course great. I encourage you to make your own customs thread for that.

To clear up a misunderstanding, C3V does not take unit suggestions; C3V is a closed process that designs and tests their own designs. There is another project to submit your designs for VC acceptance, and that's SoV. You can find information about the submission process, including what is expected of the submissions, in the second post in the main SoV thread.

Ok, good. As far as process goes, yes, the SoV Judges thoroughly test a unit prior to releasing it. Our goal is to weed out anything that's not the best of the best. For a unit to pass, it will have to have been tested thoroughly refined by its submitter. Even then only about 1 in 4 have passed, and that's just looking at the ones that passed initial submission review and United Fanscape Review (which only pass about 1/2 of the submissions).

Veguzza is pretty interesting and would be a neat addition to a Durgeth army. Being able to pull an enemy figure into attack range is pretty cool. The fact that doesn't require a roll concerns me, but the low range offsets that quite a bit.

Taunt has some rules weirdness to it. If you Taunt a figure with engagement strike, do they get to roll against Veguzza?

I wouldn't think so. The figure with Engagement Strike is the one moving, and Engagement Strike doesn't fire when the figure with it moves.

I like the interaction between the powers. Swamp water is often low ground, so this gives him a way to stay on swamp and contend with figures on high(er) ground.

Right. It’s a combination of vortex pull and chain grab. Can’t lava dunk, but really just taunts in a nearby figure into engagement. It really hasn’t proven to be very powerful as the figure has to be unengaged, but there are some subtle cases where it becomes quite handy. It’s more of a utility power that is handy on occasion, rather than one he’s dependent on.
