Agree to disagree on this. It was his using MGH which got him into trouble. Getting into trouble landed him in the hospital. When in the hospital he needed a blood transfusion. Blood transfusion donor was his grandfather, the original Super Soldier Serum guinea pig. That's how he got his powers. Before that he faked it with MGH.
